Day 1
Mount Kilimanjaro to the northwest and the south, the Pare and Usambara Mountains, and to the north, Kenya’s vast Tsavo National Park, make common ground for migratory herds of elephant, oryx, and zebra during the wet season. Together with Tsavo, it forms one of the largest and most important protected ecosystems on Earth. Mkomazi National Park stands out from all other national parks as it has a black rhinoceros sanctuary and also a captive-breeding program for the African wild dog. Seeing these two unique endangered species is a once-in-a-million adventure, together with other species such as giraffe, eland, hartebeest, zebras, buffalo, elephants, and the long-necked gerenuks. Bird spotting is excellent with more than 450 avian species recorded, including endemics such as the cobalt-chested vulturine guinea-fowl and other large ground birds such as ostrich, kori bustard, secretary bird, and ground hornbill. 5.0/5We chose Kismambi Tours for our five-day safari in Tanzania, and we couldn't have made a better decision. From the very beginning, their organization was flawless. What truly made our safari extraordinary was our incredible guide, Dietet. He was not only an expert in wildlife but also a fantastic storyteller, making every moment more engaging. His passion, deep knowledge, and keen eye for spotting animals ensured that we had the best possible experience. Every day, he provided us with delicious packed lunches (included in the all-inclusive package we booked), which we enjoyed in designated areas within the parks, fully immersed in nature. It was a true 360° adventure into the wild heart of Tanzania—one we would gladly do again and highly recommend to everyone at least once in their lifetime. Our adventure began in Tarangire National Park, where we were mesmerized by the breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife. Dietet always positioned us in the perfect spots, allowing us to capture amazing photos—even with a simple 50-200mm lens instead of a professional one! Then came the Serengeti, where we spent magical days witnessing nature at its finest. We were incredibly lucky to see two predator attacks—one by lions and one by cheetahs—one of which was successful and happened right next to our jeep! We witnessed incredible scenes of wildlife in their daily routines—lions resting, giraffes grazing, and herds of elephants on the move. Thanks to Dietet, we also managed to spot all of the Big Five, both in the Serengeti and later in the Ngorongoro Crater. The rhinos, often the hardest to find, appeared no less than five times—an absolute privilege to witness! As a wonderful bonus, Dietet even arranged an impromptu visit to a Maasai village, offering us an authentic and enriching cultural experience. Every aspect of the trip was worth every penny. The pricing was fair and transparent, especially considering the quality of service, the expertise of our guide, and the overall experience. There were no hidden costs or unpleasant surprises—just a seamlessly organized, unforgettable adventure. Throughout the trip, we always felt safe and well taken care of. This safari was truly a 360° immersion into the wild heart of Tanzania, an experience that exceeded all our expectations. If you're considering a safari, do it at least once in your lifetime—and when you do, choose Kismambi Tours. A huge thank you to Dietet and the entire Kismambi Tours team for making this an adventure we will treasure forever. See you soon!

We spent five fantastic days on safari between Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. Everything was well organized, and the lodges offered a great balance between comfort and authenticity. A special mention goes to our guide, Deiter. He was incredibly kind, professional, and an excellent driver. Spending time with him made the experience even more special. Not only did he always ensure our safety and take care of our needs, but he also helped us connect with local customs and traditions. Highly recommended!

In particularly, we wanted to book with a Tanzanian tour operator, so ended up at Kisambi tours, which was recommended to us by a friend. From the beginning onwards, Elisante was very helpful in discussing the possibilities for our tight schedule, and provided us with travel itineraries for all options. The communication beforehand was very smooth, making the preparations upon arrival in Moshi very pleasant. Upon arrival at the bus stop, we were picked up and since then, it felt like an 'adventurous all-inclusive holiday to never forget'. Both the climb as well as the safari were private (I think this is most often the case). We started with a 7 day Lemosho Kilimanjaro hike, in which we were accompanied by our guides Rama and Amani. The guides were super friendly, and knowledgable. The porters (8) made sure to arrive at the camp earlier than we did, in order to be able to change clothes immediately, or sit on the camping chair. It was nice to see that the porters and guides really team up (they always works together in this composition). We were truly amazed by the food that was prepared during the climb, especially considering the limited utilities. Upon arrival, hot water was provided for water/hot chocolate/ tea, accompanied by popcorn. When possible, the chef prepared a warm lunch halfway. In the evening, dinner started with soup, and always fruit as dessert. Whereas I could overcome the 'toilets' at the campsites, looking back: my friend would have paid an additional fee to have a portable toilet along. After the climb, we were dropped off at our hotel to get a hot shower and rest for a bit. The next morning we were picked up by Gabrielli for our next adventure: a 3-day safari in Tarangire, Ngorongoro crater and lake Manyara. Gabrielli was very relaxed, knowledgeable and respectful towards the animals. Especially his attitude towards the animals: 'We'll just wait here for a bit and they will come to us: you'll see', made him a really good guide, since in our opinion other safari vans could be very intrusive towards the wildlife. All in all, our experience was really good and we would totally recommend Kisambi to anyone planning to go to Tanzania.
