Day 1
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, meet the Adefa Tours team. If arriving in the morning, enjoy a guided city tour beginning with the National Museum of Ethiopia to see Lucy, the famous 3.2-million-year-old fossil. Continue to Entoto Park for a scenic walk in the eucalyptus forest and panoramic views of Addis Ababa. Enjoy lunch at the Addis Ababa Cultural Restaurant before visiting Saint George’s Cathedral and exploring Merkato, Africa’s largest open-air market. Day 2
After breakfast, drive south along the Butajira Road, passing the Rift Valley escarpment, farmland, and highland villages. Stop at Melka Kunture Archaeological Site to explore prehistoric artifacts, fossils, and stone tools. Continue to Adadi Mariam, Ethiopia’s southernmost rock-hewn church, and visit local priests. Next, explore the UNESCO-listed Tiya Stelae Field with its 36 standing stones engraved with symbolic figures. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing toward Lake Ziway. Take a boat trip to Bird Island to observe its rich birdlife. Overnight at Lake Ziway. Day 3
Drive from Ziway to Langano Lake, a popular recreational spot for locals. Visit Abijita-Shalla Park to spot flamingos and other wildlife. Continue to Hawassa, stopping in Shashemenie to visit the Rasta community and learn about their culture. Upon arrival in Hawassa, check into your lodge and take a sunset walk by the lakeside, observing local fishermen. Overnight stay in Hawassa. Day 4
Visit the Hawassa fish market in the morning to see the local fishing industry. Drive to Arba Minch, stopping in Welayeta Sodo for lunch. Continue to visit a Dorze village in the Guge Mountains, known for their tall, elephant-shaped bamboo houses. Arrive in Arba Minch, home to Lake Chamo and Lake Abaya. Day 5
Take a boat trip on Lake Chamo to see crocodiles, hippopotamuses, and diverse birdlife. Return to Arba Minch for lunch and drive to Forty Springs for a short walk through the forest to the source. Day 6
After breakfast, drive to Konso, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient, terraced villages. Continue to Turmi, stopping at Keyafer Market if it is Thursday, where several Omo Valley tribes gather. In the evening, witness the renowned bull-jumping ceremony and Evangadi Dance of the Hamer people and visit a Hamer village. Overnight stay at a lodge in Turmi. Day 7
Visit the Nyangatom (Kangatan) tribe, known for their vibrant culture, colorful adornments, and pastoral lifestyle. Spend time observing their daily life, small-scale farming, and cultural traditions before returning to Turmi for an overnight stay at the lodge. Day 8
Depart Turmi for Omorate and cross the Omo River by local boat or bridge to meet the Dassanech tribe, the southernmost community in the Omo Valley. Observe young boys swimming in the river, a unique local tradition. Return to Turmi for lunch and coffee, then continue to Jinka for an overnight stay. Day 9
Drive to Mago National Park to meet the Mursi tribe, renowned for their lip plates and unique cultural practices. Explore an Ari village, interacting with residents and observing traditional crafts, weaving, or pottery. Return to Jinka for an overnight stay at the lodge.
