Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to Uganda
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you are met by your professional driver-guide from Safari 62 Limited. After a warm welcome, you are transferred to your hotel near Entebbe. The first day is kept relaxed to allow recovery from international travel. Your guide provides a detailed briefing covering the safari route, accommodation plan, driving distances, and important guidelines for wildlife and primate trekking activities. Entebbe – Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you'll depart Entebbe and drive north toward Murchison Falls National Park. The journey passes through central Uganda, rural towns, and agricultural landscapes, with scheduled stops for rest and lunch. Arrival in the park is in the afternoon, followed by check-in at your lodge. The evening is spent relaxing and enjoying views of the surrounding wilderness after a long but rewarding travel day. Day 3
Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari
You'll begin the day with an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, when wildlife is most active. You'll search for elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalo, antelope, and a variety of bird species. After breakfast and rest at the lodge, enjoy an afternoon boat safari on the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest Region
After breakfast, you'll depart Murchison Falls and drive south toward the Kibale Forest region. Arrival near Kibale Forest is in the late afternoon, followed by check-in and time to relax in preparation for the next day’s primate activities. Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
After an early breakfast, you'll transfer to Kibale Forest headquarters for a briefing before chimpanzee trekking. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you track chimpanzees in their natural habitat, an energetic and rewarding experience that may take several hours. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run project known for birdlife, primates, and cultural interaction. Day 10
Gorilla Trekking Experience
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You are assigned a gorilla family and begin the trek through dense forest terrain, which can take between two and six hours. Once the gorillas are found, you'll spend up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat before returning to the lodge to rest and reflect on this unique experience. Our planning with Safari 62 began a couple of weeks before our travel. The planning was totally tailored to our party and paced well for the little kids we had with us. We went to Murchison Falls for 3 days - with an evening game drive, morning game drive, afternoon boat safari, and then experiencing the falls on our last morning. It was packed full, but so much fun for everyone! A few days later, we visited Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which was a very adventurous boat ride out to the island, and an organized excursion to see the chimps and throw them some food. Again, everyone enjoyed this! Compared to other tours online, Safari 62 had a much better value for the money, and their communication and personalized planning and follow-through really made it a wonderful experience.
