Day 1
Your safari begins with an exciting start as you're picked up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport and whisked away on a scenic 2-hour drive through the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival at Lake Naivasha, step right into the wild with a guided walking safari on Crescent Island. With no predators around, you’ll walk safely among giraffes, zebras, impalas, and waterbucks—an up-close experience that feels like stepping into a nature documentary. After your walk, you’ll head to your lodge to check in, enjoy a hearty lunch, and take a bit of time to relax in the peaceful setting. But the day isn’t over yet! In the afternoon, glide across the shimmering waters of Lake Naivasha on a boat safari. Watch hippos wallow just feet away, and marvel as fish eagles dive dramatically for their catch. The shoreline comes alive with wildlife, making this a magical way to end your first full safari day. Return to your lodge for dinner and a tranquil evening under the stars. Mid-range hotel at Lake Naivasha (Naivasha, Kenya) Lunch & dinner (Breakfast not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 2
Your journey continues with an early morning drive into the heart of Kenya’s most iconic safari destination—the Masai Mara. As you descend into the vast savannah, the landscape opens up to reveal sweeping plains dotted with acacia trees and wildlife as far as the eye can see. You’ll arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch and a short rest before setting out on your first thrilling afternoon game drive. Over the next three days, you’ll dive deeper into the wonders of the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives that bring you face-to-face with Africa’s most majestic creatures. Wake early to catch predators on the move and marvel at the sheer volume of wildlife roaming free—from massive buffalo herds to cheetahs sprinting through the grasslands. Your time in the Masai Mara promises unforgettable moments and spectacular encounters at every turn. Luxury tented camp located inside Masai Mara NR (Kenya) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
After an early breakfast, your journey continues with a scenic game drive toward the Isebania border, where you’ll cross from Kenya into Tanzania. After border processing and a relaxing lunch, you'll continue into the legendary Serengeti. As you enter this world-renowned reserve, the landscape stretches endlessly before you—vast plains alive with movement. Your afternoon turns into a rolling game drive en route to your lodge or camp in the Northern Serengeti, where you’ll arrive just in time for dinner and a well-earned rest. The next two days are dedicated to exploring the wild beauty of the Serengeti through morning and afternoon game drives. This region is especially famous for the Great Migration, with massive herds of wildebeest and zebra shadowed by lions and crocodiles. Early mornings bring active wildlife, while afternoons reveal slower moments—elephants bathing, giraffes grazing, and cheetahs surveying the land. Mid-range tented camp located inside Western Serengeti NP (Tanzania) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 8
After breakfast, leave your Serengeti lodge behind and set off on a scenic 4-hour drive toward the Ngorongoro Crater. This is no ordinary transfer—the journey itself is a game drive, with frequent sightings of wildlife and sweeping views of the highlands. By midday, you’ll arrive at the northern rim of the crater, where you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch or dine in your vehicle while taking in the breathtaking scenery. Then comes the descent into one of the most remarkable wildlife havens on Earth. The Ngorongoro Crater is a natural amphitheater teeming with life—rhinos grazing on open plains, lions lounging in the grass, and flamingos dancing across shallow lakes. You'll spend the entire afternoon exploring this lush, self-contained ecosystem before exiting through the Lush and rain forest-like southern side. Arrive at your lodge in time for a hearty dinner and a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of nature. Mid-range tented camp located 1-2hr drive from Ngorongoro Crater All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 9
After breakfast, depart your Ngorongoro lodge and head toward Lake Manyara National Park for a scenic game drive along its lush forested edge and lakeshore. Known for its tree-climbing lions, playful baboons, and colorful birdlife, Lake Manyara offers a beautiful contrast to the open plains of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. After exploring the park, continue on a short drive—just over an hour—to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival at your lodge or tented camp, enjoy lunch and a brief rest before setting out for an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is a hidden gem known for its giant baobab trees, sweeping savannahs, and large elephant herds. You'll explore the park during the golden afternoon light, which often brings wildlife to the riverbanks and watering holes. The following day is yours to fully immerse in Tarangire’s wild beauty, with both morning and afternoon game drives. Mid-range lodge located less than 1hr drive from Tarangire NP (Tanzania) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 11
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic two-hour drive to Arusha, where you’ll catch a short flight to the tropical island of Zanzibar. Upon arrival, a warm ocean breeze and swaying palm trees will welcome you as you transfer to your beach resort. Nestled along the island’s pristine coastline, your resort offers the perfect setting to unwind after days of safari adventure. The next three days are yours to relax and soak in the island’s beauty at your own pace. Swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, stroll along soft white sands, or simply lounge by the pool with a refreshing drink in hand. For those craving a bit of exploration, optional activities include spice farm tours, snorkeling and diving excursions, or a visit to historic Stone Town. Whether you choose total relaxation or a mix of beach and culture, Zanzibar is the perfect finale to your unforgettable African journey. 5.0/5Our 10-day African safari to Kenya and Tanzania was magical and memorable! We are so glad we chose to go with Tapestry of Africa because we were taken care of from the very beginning, from the video call to discuss itinerary options and prompt answers to every question (and there were a lot). The suggested accommodations were beyond expectations (even got the honeymoon suite at one - which was nice since we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary) and the food at each of them was excellent - some offering à la cart and others buffet style, which made for a nice variety during our stay. Albert, Hilda and Matt were there checking in on us prior to the trip and throughout and our guides, Alex and Ernest, took care of us through each of the parks and made sure we saw animals and had a great time. We really loved having the pop-up roof Land Cruiser all to ourselves and the personalized care and insights that each guide provided. We were very happy with the time of year we chose to go - as the weather was not too hot or too cold and not crowded! The bonus of booking with Tapestry of Africa was the humanitarian efforts that the organization provides with dental care to underserved African communities!

We just finished our safari with Tapestry of Africa and overall a great experience. We felt the price was great and our accomodation was very comfortable, especially our last stay in Amboselli at the Tortellis camp. A note to others that there is a lot of driving involved and over some very rough roads so be prepared for that. Also arrival times at some lodges are usually later than expected so again be prepared for this. Having said that we loved it all and were very happy with this company.

I started planning my safari vacation a year ahead and after reviewing several operators, I chose to go with Tapestry of Africa. Initially it was because of the quick response to my many queries, their patience with my constantly changing itinerary and their ability to immediately understand that this was a dream vacation for my family and I. Matt, Albert and Hilda worked with me patiently for 8 months on the most suitable itinerary, best accommodation within my budget and the experiences I was looking for - meticulously planning every minute detail. Matt’s input was invaluable and he sent me photos and videos of places, accommodations and experiences that we could have. I was indecisive about Lake Naivasha and Matt took a video of his boat ride on the lake to show me what it would be like! I was not sure of the lodge in Amboseli and Matt sent me a personal photo of his visit to Amboseli……The trip was perfect in every aspect thanks to Tapestry. In fact it was beyond expectation. There is not one thing I would change. I have traveled extensively in many countries and I have worked with a lot of tour operators, but with Tapestry of Africa, I felt like I had a friend or family helping me plan this vacation. From the day we landed in Nairobi till the day we returned home, someone from Tapestry was always checking in on us - was the drive ok, was the accommodation ok, how the safari was going, did we need anything….I felt I had a friend who was looking out for us at all times. Of course we saw a lot of animals, of course the places we visited were magical and the experience simply out of this world. But the best part of the vacation was the service and care provided by Tapestry. Hilda checked on us as we were waiting to board our return flight, after the vacation! I have never had a tour operator make sure I reached home safe and sound after the vacation! Hilda made sure we reached home! Along with helping plan the most perfect vacation, Tapestry will provide personal care and attention. They go above and beyond their call of duty. We went to Kenya for a vacation and returned not only with fabulous memories and unforgettable moments but also with a deep bond with the team at Tapestry. Most tour operators will organize a safari vacation but Tapestry stands out as one that truly cares about their clients.

Tapestry of Africa was the perfect choice for us. After doing a group tour in southern Africa the previous year we realised that this time we wanted to maximise the time spent in the national parks with the animals so Kenya was perfect. I was looking for a longer trip, around 3 weeks, that was packed with safari days. There were only a few companies I could find doing longer trips that included Tsavo N.P. We wanted to go to Tanzania as part of the trip, specifically the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. I found Tapestry on Safari Bookings as they had a perfect trip listed. Tapestry had amazing communication and flexibility when booking, allowing me to get my dream trip to everywhere I wanted to go for a suitable budget and timeframe. Matt at Tapestry will make sure your trip is exactly what you want, you won’t just be another booking as you will be with some other companies. We also contacted a larger company who were too pushy to get the sale, only focusing on telling us how many reviews they had. We had separate guides and vehicles in Kenya and Tanzania but we had a great time in both. Our guides were both very experienced, friendly and professional (and we had a really great time with them). Thanks to the knowledge and networking of our guides, the overload of animals we saw made sure that our cameras were never put away. We will go back for another trip in a few years and we will talk to Tapestry because they listened to what we wanted and we trust them to deliver a great trip.
