Day 1
Lake Nakuru National Park – Into the Wild
Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, driving through the scenic Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at a viewpoint to soak in the sweeping landscapes. Arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park by midmorning, you’ll set off on your first game drive, scanning the acacia woodlands and lakeshore for rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, and—when in season—the shimmering carpet of flamingos. Afterward, check into your lodge inside the park, enjoy a hearty lunch, and relax briefly before heading back out for an afternoon game drive to catch the park’s wildlife at their most active. As the sun sets over the lake, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the bush. Day 2
Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha to Nairobi
Begin with an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru, catching predators returning from the night hunt and rhinos grazing in the soft dawn light. After breakfast at your lodge, you’ll enjoy a final game drive en route out of the park. The journey continues to Lake Naivasha, where you’ll embark on a peaceful boat ride to see hippos wallowing and fish eagles diving for their prey. Next, stretch your legs on a guided walking safari on Crescent Island or the nearby sanctuary, sharing the space with giraffes, zebras, and antelopes on foot. After lunch at a lakeside lodge, you’ll have the option to enter Hell’s Gate National Park for an activity-packed adventure: Cycling through the park’s scenic roads with zebras and gazelles as your companions. Guided gorge walk through dramatic cliffs and hot springs. Rock climbing for the adventurous. Later in the afternoon, you’ll begin your return journey to Nairobi, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or airport in the evening. Solomon is a highly competent and experienced driver and guide. On the very first day, he arrived at our guesthouse on time to pick us up, and his perfectly maintained 4x4 vehicle looked especially powerful and impressive. On the Maasai Mara plains, we saw several lion prides, countless wildebeest, zebras, and various other animals. Solomon was always the first to get information about animal sightings and quickly drove us there to witness them. We also saw many elephant herds in Amboseli National Park, and during a night drive in Amboseli, we encountered some animals we had never seen before — it was an amazing experience. My family and I are extremely satisfied with this adventure trip, and we would definitely come back if we have the chance. Once Africa, always Africa!
