Day 1
Transfer to Akagera National Park - Day and Night Game Drive Experience
You'll begin your Rwanda safari with a 9:00 AM departure from Kigali to the scenic Akagera National Park, a premier wildlife destination known for its rich biodiversity and Big Five sightings. Upon arrival, you will check in at the tranquil Ruzizi Tented Lodge, set along the park’s southern shores. You'll enjoy a refreshing welcome drink before settling into your comfortable tented accommodation. After lunch, you will embark on an afternoon game drive to spot giraffes, elephants, buffalo, warthogs, monkeys, and various antelope across the savannah. As the sun sets, you will head out on an exciting night game drive around 5:30 PM, offering a chance to spot nocturnal wildlife and elusive predators. This unique experience reveals a different side of Akagera as the park comes alive after dark. Concluding around 8:30 PM, you will return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay in the heart of the wilderness. Day 2
Full-Day Game Drive & Sunset Boat Safari
You'll begin your day with an early morning game drive through Akagera National Park, led by an expert guide. As you traverse the park’s diverse landscapes, be prepared for incredible wildlife sightings, including rhinos, elephants, leopards, lions, cape buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, and more. At midday, you'll enjoy a bush-packed lunch surrounded by the raw beauty of Akagera. In the late afternoon, you'll embark on a sunset boat safari on Lake Ihema at 4:30 pm. This serene experience offers close encounters with hippos, Nice crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife. Bird enthusiasts will marvel at sightings of African Fish Eagles, Papyrus Gonoleks, and perhaps even the rare Shoebill Stork. The lake’s shores are alive with cormorants and other vibrant waterbirds, making this an unforgettable experience. After the sunset cruise, your driver-guide will return you to the lodge. Journey Back to Kigali – Departure
You'll start your day with a delicious breakfast at Ruzizi Tented Lodge, where you’ll enjoy the serene morning atmosphere before checking out. Take a moment to bid farewell to the wonderful team who have made your stay unforgettable. Your adventure continues as you embark on a scenic transfer back to Kigali, with an en-route game drive through the park, offering one last chance to spot wildlife in their natural habitat. Along the way, you will enjoy a leisurely picnic lunch, soaking in the beauty of the landscape. Upon reaching Kigali, you will be transferred either to your hotel or directly to Kigali International Airport for your onward journey, leaving with cherished memories of your remarkable adventure.
