Day 1
Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Arrival at Kigali International Airport in the morning or early afternoon, our representative will welcome you and assist you with all the immigration procedures, collect your luggage, and hand you over to the Echoes From Africa driver-guide, who will give you a quick general briefing of your tour. You have an option to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center before driving off to the Volcanoes National Park area (approx. 3 hours drive). You'll arrive and check in; the rest of the day is for relaxation. Later, you'll have dinner and an overnight stay. Day 2
Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience
You'll start the day with an early breakfast at the hotel before transferring to the park headquarters for the trek briefing, which starts at 7:00 am. During the briefing by the park guide, you will be given guidelines to follow as well as which gorilla family to visit for the day. At 8:00 am, Vehicles set off to the starting point depending on the group allocated. Porters are available for hire at an extra fee to assist with your backpack and give you an extra hand where the terrain is slippery. Once you find them, you are only allowed to spend 1 hour with them before descending back to your hotel to freshen up and have lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure while enjoying the property facilities. You'll have dinner and an overnight stay. Cultural Experience and Return to Kigali for Departure
On this day, you will have breakfast at the hotel, check out, and settle any extras. Based on your departure flight, you will first visit the Gorilla Guardians Village for a cultural experience before returning to Kigali to connect with your outbound flight. I had the chance to visit the Akagera Park with my family. It was an incredible and extraordinary moment to see. To see so many animals of different species in a landscape as beautiful as the akagera park I recommend it to everyone. Our tour guide was great with us, they gave us the name of each species we could see and explained to us how they live. On topar of that he was funny and professional. He was able to speak to us in English, Kinyarwanda and even a little French so that everyone could understand. It was a very nice day for us and I advise you. In addition to that quality/price levels are very reasonable.
