Overview
The 3500 hectare Bateleur property is located in the heart of the world renowned Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. All fences between Timbavati and Kruger National Park have been removed and the Bateleur property shares unfenced borders with Kruger. This prime wilderness area boasts the Big Five, a large diversity of antelope species and the entire range of smaller predators plus over 500 bird species. The camp hosts a maximum of 16 clients and guarantees a very personal experience.

Day 1
Hoedspruit to Timbavati Game Reserve
Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, you will be met for your road transfer to Bateleur Safari Camp in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. Once you arrive at the lodge, check-in, settle in, and enjoy some tea or coffee before setting out on your first afternoon game drive to begin your search for the animals, including the Big Five. **Please note that for 2026 bookings the age group for children allowed at Bateleur Camp is 8 - 11 years old, and no longer 6 - 11 years old. Day 2
Timbavati Game Reserve
The morning game drive starts at sunrise. You will wake up before dawn for tea and coffee before the game drive starts. Then, you are off for 3 hours to find as many animals as possible before they all find trees to hide under in the heat of the day. When the game drive returns to the lodge, you will be served a delicious hot breakfast and have time to relax. You can sit by the pool, read a book, take a nap and absorb being out in the bush. After high tea, the afternoon game drive will start around 3:30–4:00 PM. It will last for +-3 hours, with a stop somewhere for sundowners. You will return to the lodge in the dark, with a spotlight to look for nocturnal animals. Day 4
Timbavati Game Reserve to Hoedspruit
After your final morning game drive to look for the last remaining animals that have eluded you, enjoy a warm breakfast and depart the lodge for your road transfer to Hoedspruit Airport, where your safari comes to an end.
