Upon your arrival at the Kigali airport, our team will be there to meet you and transfer you to your hotel, the Heaven Boutique Hotel (a mid-range hotel in Kigali) or a similar accommodation. After a long flight, we will brief you on the next steps of your safari, which begins the following day, and answer any questions you may have. Your stay will be on a bed-and-breakfast basis, which is ideal for those arriving in Kigali in the evening. If you arrive early, you can choose to either relax at the hotel or explore various city activities. These include a city tour, a visit to the genocide memorial site, and a trip to the Kigali market. Kigali to Volcanoe National Park
Start your day with a delightful, leisurely breakfast to set a positive tone for the meaningful experiences ahead. Next, immerse yourself in history with a visit to the genocide memorial site, followed by an engaging city tour that uncovers the rich culture of Rwanda. Afterward, enjoy a scenic two-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, arriving just in time for a delicious lunch. Once you’ve refueled, take advantage of your free afternoon to relax and prepare for the exciting trekking safari that awaits you the next morning, where adventure will begin at dawn. After lunch, you have the option to participate in several activities, including: 1. Diana Fossey Museum 2. Visit to a local village for a cultural experience 3. Hiking Mt. Karisimbi 4. Hiking Mt. Bisoke 5. Visiting the Twin Lakes: Lake Burere and Lake Ruhondo, or bird watching. Day 3
Volcanoe Gorilla trekking
After breakfast, you will drive to the Kinigi Headquarters Visitors Information Center for a briefing about trekking gorillas in the small but rewarding Volcanoes National Park. Following the briefing, you will embark on your trek to see the magnificent mountain gorillas — one of the most endangered species on the planet. The total trek may take anywhere from 3 to 8 hours. While the search for the gorillas can be strenuous, the experience is extremely rewarding. Later in the afternoon, you will return to your lodge to relax and reflect on your day, possibly writing in your journal or listening to music. As its name suggests, Volcanoes National Park is a vital stronghold for the mountain gorilla and one of only four places in the world where this charismatic ape can be observed in the wild. The park boasts an impressive elevation range, from 2,227 meters at the entrance to 4,127 meters at the summit of Muhabura. Eric took us to amazing game driving where we saw a great number of animals and received many interesing explanations about wild life. Amazing 10 days trip in safari/camping
We returned home amazed after a 10-day camping safari trip with Eric and Mambo across Kenya. Excellent Safari and value for money
We (a family of five from Denmark with age of children being 10, 13 and 15 years) had a very good private safari with Camptrek Safaris. We booked a 4 night/5 day safari that took us to Masai Mare, Lake Nakuru, Naiwasha and Hell’s Gate National Park. Lucy was always very fast and helpful when communicating with her during the booking from Denmark, and she was there to send us off in Nairobi and when we came back after the safari.
