Day 1
JHB Transfer to Hazyview & Optional Activities
The airport shuttle departs OR Tambo International Airport at 6:45am or 12:00pm. Upon arrival in Hazyview, approximately 5 hours later, you will be greeted by a guide from Elephant Herd Tours & Safaris, who will then transport you to your accommodation. Following a welcome drink in the beautiful and bird-rich gardens of the guesthouse, you will have 2 to 3 hours to unpack and relax before we pick you up for an unforgettable one-hour experience with Africa's gentle giants, the African elephant. Alternatively, you can opt for a fun-filled afternoon on an aerial cable trail, gliding over the tree canopies along the Sabie River. The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Day 2
Kruger National Park Safari
Your safari to the Kruger National Park starts before sunrise in one of our open safari vehicles, giving you the opportunity to view animals from a higher vantage point and a perfect panoramic view. Your guide will use his expert knowledge to help you search for and find the iconic animals in the park whilst interpreting the natural environment during the drive. We will have a brief stop for breakfast at around 8:30am at a rest camp or a picnic spot along the planned route to enjoy the individually packed breakfast packs from the guesthouse. There will also be a lunch stop should you wish to purchase a lunch snack from the restaurants inside the Kruger Nationa Park or stretch your legs. You will return to your guesthouse at around 3:30pm in time for a refreshing drink or a dip in the pool at your own leisure. A dinner transfer will be ready at the time arranged with your guide. Day 3
Morning Safari in the Kruger National Park & Transfer to the Luxury Lodge
Before heading to the private game reserve, you will have one final morning safari in the Kruger National Park. Your guesthouse will provide breakfast packs for you to enjoy at one of the picnic spots or rest camps. Around 11:00am, you will leave the Kruger National Park and be transferred back to the guesthouse to collect your luggage and have a quick snack before heading to the lodge in the private game reserve. Upon arrival, you will have time to unpack, freshen up, and prepare to watch the African sunset with a sundowner drink in the heart of the bushveld. You can enjoy a drink and traditional South African snacks as we watch the sunset over the African bushveld. Dinner will be served under the stars around a boma fire. Day 4
Private Game Reserve Experience
Expert rangers and a devoted hospitality team will ensure that your stay at the luxury lodge is truly unforgettable. Each day will commence with an early morning safari game drive. In the late afternoon, guests will embark on another game drive and return after dark, providing an opportunity for exhilarating night game drives. Additionally, optional bush walks are offered every day after breakfast/brunch. A typical daily schedule will be as follows: * 5:30am: Wake-up call * 6:00am: Coffee and a light breakfast * 6:30am: Depart for the morning game drive * 9:00am to 10:00am: Return to the lodge * 10:30am: Breakfast/brunch * 11:00am: Optional bushwalk * 2:00pm: Tea and a light lunch * 4:00pm: Depart for the afternoon game drive and night drive * 7:00pm to 8:00pm: Return to the camp, followed by drinks at the bar and dinner at the bush boma. Morning Safari & Transfer to OR Tambo International Airport
After your final morning game drive and breakfast, you will be transferred to Perry's Bridge in Hazyview. There, you will board a mini-bus shuttle for your road transfer to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. If you need to travel to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, a transfer can be arranged for your onward travels. We got to see all of the big 5 animals with our guide in Kruger, who was dedicated to finding amazing animal encounters. We had several experiences where it was just us and maybe one other car because our guide spotted the animals or got us to the location where an animal was spotted quickly. Everything was prompt and professional. Communication was great. Highly recommend!
