You'll be collected from the airport. Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
Day 1
Johannesburg Transfer to Hazyview and Optional Activities
The airport shuttle departs from O.R. Tambo Airport at 06h45 or 12h00. On arrival in Hazyview, approximately 5 hours later, you will be collected by an Elephant Herd Tours & Safaris guide and transported to your accommodation. After a welcome drink in the beautiful and bird-rich gardens of the guesthouse, you will have 2 to 3 hours to unpack and relax before we collect you for an unforgettable 1-hour experience with Africa's gentle giants, the African elephants, or for a fun-filled afternoon on an aerial cable trail gliding over the tree canopies along the Sabie River. The evening will be spent at leisure. A complimentary transfer service will be provided if you wish to dine at one of the local restaurants. Day 2
Kruger National Park Safari
Your safari to the Kruger National Park starts before sunrise in one of our open safari vehicles. This allows you to view animals from a higher vantage point and a perfect panoramic view. Your guide will use his expert knowledge to help you search for and find the iconic animals in the park while interpreting the natural environment during the drive. We will briefly stop for breakfast at around 08h30 to enjoy the individually packed breakfast packs your guesthouse provided. These can be enjoyed at a rest camp or a picnic spot along the planned route for that day. There will also be a lunch stop should you wish to purchase a lunch snack from the restaurants inside Kruger Park or stretch your legs. You will return to your guesthouse at around 15h30, in time for a refreshing drink or a dip in the pool. A dinner transfer will be ready at the time arranged with your guide. Day 3
Kruger Morning Safari and Transfer to Luxury Lodge
For one last time, you will rise before the sun and set out for your final morning safari in the Kruger National Park before you set off to the private game reserve. Your guesthouse will provide breakfast packs for you to enjoy at one of the picnic spots or rest camps. After leaving Kruger Park at around 11h00, you will be transferred back to the guest house to collect your luggage before the transfer to the lodge in the private game reserve. You will arrive in time to unpack, refresh and get ready for the sunset safari. The safari includes a sundowner stop in the heart of the bushveld, where you can enjoy a drink and some traditional South African snacks while you watch the sunset over the African bushveld. Dinner will follow under the stars around a boma fire after the safari. Overnight accommodation will be at the lodge. Day 4
Private Game Reserve Experience
Expert rangers and a dedicated hospitality team will ensure that your stay at the luxury lodge is truly memorable. Each day begins with an early morning safari game drive. In the late afternoon, you will head out on another game drive and return after dark, giving you the exhilarating experience of being on a night game drive! Optional bush walks are offered every day after breakfast or brunch. An example of your experience will look something like below. Times might vary according to season: 05h30: Wake-up call 06h00: Coffee and a light breakfast 06h30: Morning game drive 09h00 to 10h00: Return to the lodge 10h00: Breakfast/Brunch 11h00: Optional bush walk 14h00: Tea and a light lunch 16h00: Afternoon game drive and night drive 19h00 to 20h00: Return to the camp for drinks at the bar and dinner at the bush boma. Morning Safari and Transfer to OR Tambo International Airport
After your final morning game drive and breakfast, you will be transferred to Perry's Bridge in Hazyview. You will arrive in time to board the mini-bus shuttle for your road transfer to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. A transfer to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport can be arranged for your onward travels. We got to see all of the big 5 animals with our guide in Kruger, who was dedicated to finding amazing animal encounters. We had several experiences where it was just us and maybe one other car because our guide spotted the animals or got us to the location where an animal was spotted quickly. Everything was prompt and professional. Communication was great. Highly recommend!
