Day 1
Arrival and Transfer to a City Hotel
Arrival at Kigali International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and lead you to the VIP lounge, assist with all the immigration procedures, sort your luggage and later introduce you to your driver guide. Transfer to Kigali Marriott Hotel (approx. 30 minutes drive), assisted with check in and overnight stay. Day 2
Full City Tour of Kigali
Have a relaxed breakfast at the hotel. You will start your city tour at a round 9h00 including a visit to Kigali genocide Memorial Center, Campaign Against Genocide Museum, Inema Arts Center and House of Tao. Later, you will have a chance to visit Inema Arts center and House of Tayo before returning to the hotel. Lunch and dinner included on this day. Day 3
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park & Visit Ellen DeGeneres Camu
Check out after your breakfast and settle any extras before proceeding on a scenic road transfer to Volcanoes National Park area. Arrive, you have an option to visit the Ellen De Generes Campus of the Dian Fossey and after head to the at the lodge and you will be welcomed and assisted with check in. Day 4
Gorilla Trekking Experience
Early breakfast at the lodge then proceed to the park headquarters in time for Gorilla Trek briefing which starts at 07h00. After the briefing and allocation of gorilla families and park guides, drive to the start point of your guided walk that begins at 08h00. A gorilla family is led by a silverback that provides protection to group members, silverbacks maintain order and decide all activities within their troop. They schedule feeding trips, resting time, and travel. They also father the majority of the young in the group. After this memorable experience, you will return for your lunch and you may decide to relax or visit a local market. Day 5
Golden Monkey Trekking and Return to Kigali
On this day, have an early breakfast, check out and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing at 07h00. Later transfer to the start point for the Golden Monkey trek experience. This is not as strenuous as the gorilla trek and usually guests return by 11h00. En route you will visit the Gorilla Guardians Village for a cultural experience before returning to the lodge to freshen up and have lunch. Transfer back to Kigali, dinner at a recommended restaurant. Overnight stay at Kigali Marriot hotel. Our booking was originally planned for three weeks – a complete tour up to Gisenyi (for 6 people). Unfortunately, our five-year-old son became ill and was very unwell for 14 days. During this difficult time, we were not alone – you never left us on our own. For this, my entire family would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The Everetret team quickly organized a new plan: story time and 🤗 small activities to provide distraction. Healthy children and girls were taken on short outings (not far from Kigali), and every day brought something new. This allowed my husband and me to fully focus on caring for our little son. In the last week of our stay (after the 14 days), we were also able to enjoy a short break ourselves. We will see you again in August. Many, many thanks to the whole team – Doris, Theo, and everyone else. 🙏🙏🙏❤️👌
