Day 1
Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Depart Nairobi early in the morning in a luxury 4x4 safari vehicle and drive north through central Kenya, passing tea and coffee plantations and the Equator crossing. Enjoy scenic views as you descend into the semi-arid landscapes of Samburu. Arrive at Elephant Bedroom Camp in time for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve, exploring the Ewaso Nyiro River where elephants, crocodiles and birdlife gather. Samburu National Reserve
After an early breakfast, set out for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Samburu is renowned for rare northern species such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and gerenuk. Return to camp for breakfast and leisure time, enjoying river views from camp. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive through different sections of the reserve, searching for lions, leopards and large elephant herds. End the day with sundowners and dinner at the camp. After breakfast, depart Samburu on a game drive en route through Buffalo Springs National Reserve. Explore the natural springs, open plains and riverbanks that attract diverse wildlife. Continue to Shaba National Reserve, known for its volcanic landscapes and rugged beauty. Arrive at Saruni Samburu for lunch and relaxation. Spend the afternoon at leisure, enjoying panoramic views. Enjoy breakfast before departing for a game drive in Shaba National Reserve and the neighboring Kalama Conservancy. This exclusive area offers fewer vehicles and exceptional wildlife encounters in dramatic scenery. Spot elephants, predators and plains game against a backdrop of lava rock formations and hills.
