Arrival in Kigali
Arrival at Kigali International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and lead you to the VIP lounge, assist with all the immigration procedures, sort your luggage and later introduce you to your driver guide. Day 2
Flight to Kamembe Airport - Nyungwe National Park Area
05h00: Check out with packed breakfast and transfer to Kigali International Airport for a flight to Kamembe Airport departing at 07h00 and arriving at 07h40. Situated in south-western Rwanda, the Nyungwe Forest National Park is known for its exceptional biodiversity and its wide range of endemic species and home of Rwanda’s sole remaining chimpanzee population, as well as 85 additional mammal species, 43 reptile species, nearly 300 bird species and over 1000 plant species. Our driver guide will be waiting to transfer you to the Park offices for briefing before starting your Zipline and Canopy Walk experience. Day 3
Chimpanzee Trekking
The day begins bright and early, driving to the park headquarters at 05h00 with a delicious packed breakfast. After an insightful chimpanzee trek briefing, you’ll be escorted to the Evergreen Forest and the adventure begins. During the trek, you are likely to spot a wide variety of bird life, monkeys, reptiles. Their playfulness and human–like characteristics make this journey so rewarding. You may even be welcomed by chimp morning calls deep in the forest. Upon encountering the chimps enjoy their acrobatics, feeding, and day-to-day behaviors. Lunch at the lodge. Flight to Kigali and Road drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
06h00: After having your breakfast, you will check out and settle any extras before transferring to Kamembe Airport for a flight to Kigali departing at 08h20 arriving at 09h00. Proceed on a scenic road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park area via Cyanika Boarder for immigration clearance. Arrive at Gorilla Safari Lodge in the evening and assisted with check in. Day 5
Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast and briefing from the guides at the park offices, set off for the mountains gorilla trekking inside the Bwindi Forest. You will need to carry drinking water, rain jacket and hiking boots while the rangers will provide you with a walking stick. Gorilla trekking is one of the unique activities you will enjoy while photographing and observing the gorillas. Our booking was originally planned for three weeks – a complete tour up to Gisenyi (for 6 people). Unfortunately, our five-year-old son became ill and was very unwell for 14 days. During this difficult time, we were not alone – you never left us on our own. For this, my entire family would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The Everetret team quickly organized a new plan: story time and 🤗 small activities to provide distraction. Healthy children and girls were taken on short outings (not far from Kigali), and every day brought something new. This allowed my husband and me to fully focus on caring for our little son. In the last week of our stay (after the 14 days), we were also able to enjoy a short break ourselves. We will see you again in August.
