Tour step
You'll be collected from the airport. Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
Day 1
We will pick you up from your hotel and after meeting the guide, chef and the other clients, we will drive to Tarangire National Park (2-hrs drive), which is famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly known for its abundance of ancient baobab trees and having the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country. It provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive through the park depending on where they have reported sightings of animals (mostly predators, lions, cheetahs and leopards - as they are harder to spot). The herbivores like giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, etc. are plenty to see throughout the park. After lunch, we will proceed with the game drive and exit the park at around 4:30 pm when we will head to our campsite accommodation for dinner and sleep. Outside Tarangire NP Lunch & dinner (Breakfast not included) Non-alcoholic drinks
Day 2
After breakfast, you will drive from Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti which takes about 6 hours (including all stops) as it transits through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We'll stop at the Ngorongoro Crater in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha region and will also have a brief stop at the gate and viewpoint to look at the breathtaking view of the crater (20 minutes). Go on an optional visit to a Maasai village to visit and explore the culture of the great Maasai community known for hunting and killing lions to be considered a warrior, and drinking raw animal blood. These traditions, though, are a thing of the past. Arrive in the late afternoon and do a game drive in Seronera (centre of Serengeti) until the late evening. Experience the sunset in Serengeti while having a close view of wild animals. If you're lucky, you may see a predator hunting or on a kill. Later, head to the Seronera Campsite meal. Inside Serengeti NP All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 3
After an early breakfast, we will go on a morning game drive to spot the many animals. In the afternoon, we will head to the camp for lunch and to pack. We'll do a game drive while we exit the Serengeti. We'll head to Simba Campsite (2-hr drive) which is located near the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. You'll be able to spot animals from the campsite. Inside Serengeti NP All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 4
After an early breakfast, we will descend the crater on a journey to find the black rhino. Rhinos are the hardest animals to spot in the beautiful crater due to it being a floor crater. After lunch, we will do a game drive and then ascend the crater to return to the camp. We'll pack for the trip to Camp near Lake Manyara National Park. Outside Ngorongoro Crater All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 5
After breakfast, we will go to Lake Manyara National Park. We will do a game drive viewing plenty of birds. If you're lucky, you will spot the famous tree-climbing lions. Visit the hippo pool for a close look at the hippos as well as the hot springs. While doing the game drive, you'll view plenty of animals like buffaloes, wildebeests, warthogs, vultures, eagles, monkeys, etc. Budget hotel located in Arusha (City) Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 6
Today, you will visit the majestic waterfalls. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about the Chagga people, their village life, and the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck, you might catch a glimpse of the Kilimanjaro summit. Upon reaching the waterfalls, you'll be amazed by their height, over 80 meters tall. The pool at the base is perfect for a refreshing swim, so don't forget your swimwear! After enjoying the stunning scenery, you'll return with your guide to Materuni village, where a traditional Chagga lunch awaits. You'll also have the chance to taste the local banana beer, an experience not to be missed! The coffee tour is a highlight, traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances, offering a fun and immersive cultural experience. Before you say goodbye, you can savor the coffee you made while appreciating the views of the surrounding rainforest. Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Non-alcoholic drinks

5.0/5Fantastic! A wonderful safari with Makini Tanzania Safari. I spoke with Naomi, a local who takes care of planning the safari just the way you want. She was helpful and very kind from the start. Excellent people, they made everything easy for us and pampered us. If I had to recommend them, I definitely would! Well done guys, Simon was our ranger, we miss you and can't wait to come back. ❤️ (automatic translation from Italian)

This was my first safari experience and it exceeded my expectations in every way. Makini put together a superb initerary for us, making tweaks and adjustments according to our preferences and budget. The accommodation in Arusha was perfect (Summit Lodge) with swimming pool for relaxing and a top floor bar and restaurant. Day 2 was a trip to the Materuni village, driven expertly by Rama. We walked to the waterfall and ate a hot lunch prepared and served by the villagers who were all extremely welcoming. Day 3 was the beginning of our safari at Lake Manyara where we saw elephants, giraffes and a honeymooning lion couple, all before a delicious hot lunch of chicken, rice, vegetables and salad, looking over the magnificent views of Lake Manyara. We stayed overnight at Ngere Lodges and enjoyed an hour beside the pool before supper, again cooked by our chef Pascal. Our driver and guide was Gift and I cannot imagine a better guide. He is an exceptional driver over very challenging terrain and always stayed calm. Our comfort and safety was his primary concern. His English is impeccable as is his knowledge of the parks and wildlife. In addition, he seems to have an instinct for seeking out the animals. We spent 3 days in the Serengeti and another day in the Ngorongoro Crater, where we saw the Big 5 in abundance - 5 black rhino, 4 leopards, and dozens of lions, elephants and giraffes. Our accommodation was in tents for 3 nights which was comfortable and allowed us to listen to the wildlife from our beds at night. Our chef, Pascal, kept us well fed with the best food we had in Tanzania. A great variety over the 5 days, a 3 course meal and always with tablecloth, napkins and proper crockery. Each meal comprised 4 or 5 main dishes of meat, vegetables, rice/pasta/fried potatoes, salad and homemade bread (at the campsite the bread rolls were baked in front of us on the fire). We enjoyed a sunrise tour, and many happy hours in the jeep with Gift who was unfailingly generous in his knowledge and patience. The Serengeti is truly amazing. After 5 days safari, we flew to Zanzibar for a few days on the stunning beaches. We took a boat tour which included swimming with dolphins and snorkeling over the coral. Truly a holiday of a lifetime.

We booked a 5-day safari with Makini and had a wonderful experience! The night before departure, Naomi gave us a clear and friendly briefing and we even received a Makini Safari t-shirt. During the safari, our guide David did an exceptional job. He was always enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable about the parks and wildlife, and could answer all our questions with ease. He spoke fluent English, which made communication effortless and enjoyable throughout the trip. Thanks to his dedication and expertise, we were lucky enough to see the Big Five! At one point, the door lock of our safari vehicle stopped working (something quite normal given the rough and bumpy roads in the parks), but David handled it perfectly, quickly fixing the issue on the spot so we could continue our adventure without any interruptions. David even went above his usual duties as he made sure we had a smooth transfer to the airport after our trip. Our group of four shared the vehicle with three other travelers who had almost the same itinerary as ours, except for one night. Everything was very well organized, and the trip ran smoothly from start to finish. Our chef, Richard, prepared every meal and the food was absolutely delicious! Overall, we highly recommend Makini Safari to anyone looking for a well-organized, memorable, and truly authentic safari experience in Tanzania!

The communication was perfect from the time of booking to the end of the tour. We had a fantastic guide, Fadhili, he was professional, kind and made sure we see everything. We had a lodge within Serengeti, where you could hear the lions roaring at night and see them from the terrace of the restaurant. It was a truly authentic experience.
