Day 1
Depart Nairobi in a comfortable 4x4 safari cruiser. You will travel south along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Stop briefly at Emali for a washroom break and refreshments. Arrive at the park gates and make your first game drive en route to Sentrim Amboseli Lodge for check-in and lunch. Head out for an afternoon game drive. Search for the park’s famous massive elephant herds, lions, giraffes, and zebras against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and your first overnight stay under the stars. Day 2
Wake up with the sun for a sunrise game drive. This is the optimal time to spot predators on the move and catch clear, snowy views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds settle. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast and spend the midday relaxing by the pool. Enjoy lunch at the lodge’s open-air restaurant. Head back out into the park to explore different areas, like Observation Hill for panoramic views of the swamps and plains. You can also opt to visit an authentic Maasai Village to learn about their culture (at an extra cost of USD 35 per person). Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3
Start with an early morning game drive in Amboseli to catch the wildlife and the scenic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro before returning to camp for breakfast. Check out of Sentrim Amboseli and begin your scenic transfer. You will drive along the Emali-Loitokitok road, connecting to the Mombasa Highway to enter Tsavo West through the Kimana Gate. Arrive at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge in time for check-in and a hot buffet lunch. Relax on the open-air terrace while watching elephants, buffalo, and plains game visit the lodge’s active waterhole. Head out for an afternoon game drive. Explore the park's volcanic terrain, including the Shetani Lava Flows and Chyulu Hills. Return to the lodge as the sun sets over the Chyulu Hills. Enjoy a buffet or a 3-course table d'hôte dinner, often followed by a bonfire under the stars. Day 4
Begin with an early morning game drive departing from Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge toward Mzima Springs to spot hippos and crocodiles before exiting Tsavo West. Cross over via the Tsavo River Gate into Tsavo East. You will traverse the varying landscapes, keeping an eye out for the famous red dust elephants of Tsavo. Arrive at Ashnil Aruba Lodge. Check-in and enjoy a buffet lunch. If your room allows, you may be able to see elephants and other wildlife gathering at the Aruba Dam watering hole right from your balcony. Head out into the vast savannah of Tsavo East for an afternoon safari to spot lions, giraffes, buffalo, and diverse birdlife. Day 5
Begin with a spectacular early morning game drive around the Aruba Dam in Tsavo East National Park, where you can spot vast herds of dust-red elephants, lions, and diverse birdlife. Return to the lodge for breakfast, check out, and begin the drive southeast via the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway. Stop for lunch along the way before reaching the Likoni Ferry crossing. Drive your vehicle onto the ferry to cross the Kilindini Harbour into the South Coast. Arrive at Swahili Beach Resort. Check in to your room and enjoy a sundowner by the cascading multi-tier swimming pool, followed by dinner. Day 6
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the resort. Head to the beachfront to arrange any non-motorized water sports like stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking with local operators. Take a stroll along Diani's powdery white sand, or head to the Diani Beach Gallery to view local art. Dine at one of the highly-rated coastal restaurants like the Salty Squid or Funky Monkey for their signature tropical ambiance. Day 7
Drive just 45 minutes inland to Shimba Hills National Reserve. Take a guided drive through the lush forest to spot rare sable antelope and hike to the scenic Sheldrick Falls. On your drive back to the coast, consider visiting the Kaya Kinondo Sacred Forest for a local Digo cultural experience. Day 8
Enjoy a final oceanfront breakfast and use the hotel amenities before checking out. Drive to the Ukunda Airstrip for a flight back to Nairobi.
