Arrival in Kenya – Journey to Masai Mara & First Wildlife Encounters (Sekenani Sector)

Day 1

Arrival in Kenya – Journey to Masai Mara & First Wildlife Encounters (Sekenani Sector)

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you are met by your safari guide and depart for the Masai Mara, driving through the Great Rift Valley and Maasai land. You arrive at Fisi Camp in the Sekenani sector in time for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, you head out for your first game drive in the Masai Mara. This region is one of Africa’s richest wildlife ecosystems, offering excellent chances of seeing elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, antelopes, and predators including lions and cheetahs. Full-Day Masai Mara – Big Five Exploration (Sekenani & Musiara Sector)

Day 2

Full-Day Masai Mara – Big Five Exploration (Sekenani & Musiara Sector)

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Masai Mara’s wildlife richness. After an early breakfast, you depart with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive in focused search of the Big Five. You begin in the Sekenani area and gradually make your way toward the Musiara sector, an ecologically important region characterized by permanent marshlands and riverine vegetation. The Masai Mara holds the highest wildlife density in Kenya and is the only national reserve where four of the Big Five — lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard — are found in consistently high numbers. The Musiara marshes act as a critical dry-season refuge for wildlife and are famously home to the Marsh Pride, one of the most studied and active lion prides in Africa. Throughout the day, you will observe complex predator-prey interactions. By day’s end, most of you will have encountered at least three of the Big Five, with the elusive leopard remaining a special highlight when spotted. Maasai Village Visit (Optional) – Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

Day 3

Maasai Village Visit (Optional) – Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you have the option to visit a local Maasai village for a cultural interaction that offers insight into traditional pastoral life, social structures, and customs. Thereafter, you depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, located in Kenya’s Central Rift Valley. You arrive around lunchtime, check in at your lodge, and later proceed for an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is internationally famous for its flamingos, which often line the shallow alkaline lake, creating exceptional photographic opportunities with the birds set against the scenic escarpment backdrop. Beyond flamingos, the park is one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos, making it especially important for completing the Big Five experience. The park also supports lions, buffaloes, Rothschild's giraffes, and numerous bird species, making it a vital conservation stronghold. You begin the day with a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru, when wildlife is most active, before checking out and driving north toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the Laikipia Plateau. Upon arrival, you check in at a camp located just outside the conservancy and spend the evening at leisure, surrounded by views of Mount Kenya and the open plains. Dinner and overnight are at the camp. Luxury hotel located in Nanyuki (Town) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Big Cats, Rhinos & Conservation Experiences

Day 5

Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Big Cats, Rhinos & Conservation Experiences

After an early breakfast, you enter Ol Pejeta with a packed lunch for a full day of exploration. You have the option to participate in a lion tracking experience, a shared conservation activity involving radio-collared lions. This experience offers rare insight into lion behavior, social structure, territorial movements, and hunting patterns, guided by expert trackers. It is especially valuable if big cat sightings are limited in the Masai Mara. Ol Pejeta holds Kenya’s second-highest wildlife density after the Masai Mara, the second-biggest big cat populations, and contains the largest rhino sanctuary in East Africa. The conservancy also has abundant elephants and buffaloes. It is also home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos on Earth. You may also visit the chimpanzee sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya, which rescues and rehabilitates abused and orphaned chimps. Game drives continue until evening before returning to camp for the night. Luxury hotel located in Nanyuki (Town) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

Transfer to Samburu – Cultural Experience

Day 6

Transfer to Samburu – Cultural Experience

After breakfast, you depart for Samburu, driving through Kenya’s scenic Central highlands into the semi-arid north. Upon arrival, you check in at your camp and later visit a Samburu village, one of Kenya’s most authentic indigenous communities. The Samburu people are closely related to the Maasai, yet their culture, attire, traditions, and rituals differ in fascinating ways. This visit allows you to compare the two cultures while gaining a deeper understanding of life in northern Kenya. Samburu National Reserve – Endangered & Rare Species

Day 7

Samburu National Reserve – Endangered & Rare Species

Today, you enter Samburu National Reserve with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive. The reserve is renowned for its elephant populations, often seen along the Ewaso Nyiro River, as well as buffaloes, lions, and leopards adapted to arid environments. Samburu is also famous for the Samburu Special Five, a group of rare and endangered dry-land species found only in northern Kenya: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Your guide will help you distinguish these species from their southern counterparts, such as Grevy’s zebras from plains zebras and reticulated giraffes from Maasai giraffes, offering educational insight into evolutionary adaptations to harsh environments. Excellent customer service skills

Paul was very helpful in planning our Ol Pejeta safari. Our guide, David, was knowledgeable, friendly, and had a great sense of humor throughout the trip. Seeing the rhinos was definitely the highlight of our safari experience. Everything was well organized, and we truly enjoyed our time

Good planning

I had a great experience on my Mount Kenya trip. The views were stunning and everything was well organized. Unfortunately, after summit day I had to cut the trek short due to sunstroke and altitude sickness. However, the early return was handled very smoothly, a driver was arranged to pick me up directly in the national park, which worked out perfectly. Overall, despite the unexpected change of plans, the trip was excellent and well managed.

Safari bookings offers epic guided adventures through the legendary lands of African safari

We wanted to experience the very best of the Masai Mara safari, and although we booked just a month before our travel dates, January, the Dreamlike Africa team still managed to make it work beautifully. Though our preferred accommodation Mara Serena was already full, the team at dreamlike secured us a stay at Mara sopa lodge which though ranked lower was okey. Our guide David was attentive, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made sure our 3-day stay was packed with sightings, including lions on the hunting. Dreamlike Africa turned a potentially stressful last-minute plan into a seamless, unforgettable experience.

Very good experience.

It was a very good experience with our guide Maro. Game drives were nice, we had explanations when we were asking, water was included, we had time and we saw many animals. The roads from Tsavo to Amboseli are really bad in 2026 though. It could have been better to be in a more recent car, more comfortable.
