Guests are collected and dropped off from any Hotel or address in Johannesburg, including the OR Tambo Airport. We set off to the heart of Soweto, driving past Baragwanath Hospital. Walk through the streets with your guide past street cafés and craft markets to a community centre that MoAfrika sponsors. We stop outside Regina Mundi Church and Freedom Square for a quick overview (optional to go inside) and then go to the Hector Pieterson Museum for a formal tour. Make our way down the vibrant Vilakazi Street, past iconic monuments and the homes of Nelson and Winnie Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The morning ends at a popular restaurant at the base of the massive Soweto Towers. Enjoy an traditional meal of ‘shisa nyama’ and visit the craft market. After lunch, we make our way back to Johannesburg city center to the Apartheid Museum. Arrive at the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg CBD and listen to a short explanation of the museum exhibits. Our first Big 5 Safari Tour was nothing short of incredible! From the very start, the excitement was unreal and it only got better with every moment out in the wild. Seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide Martin was knowledgeable, passionate and made the whole experience even more special. It’s something we’ll never forget, truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! But we will repeat it as we still have to „hunt“ leopard 🐆 hehe
