Using VHF telemetry equipment, guides track one of the reserve’s monitored pangolins while discussing illegal wildlife trafficking, research initiatives and pangolin ecology. Okonjima protects one of Namibia’s important pangolin populations. ✔️ Birdlife may include Rockrunner, Monteiro’s Hornbill, Hartlaub’s Spurfowl, Carp’s Tit and the yellow morph Crimson-breasted Shrike. Luxury lodge located inside Okonjima NR All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
🌎Journey north towards Etosha National Park with a conservation stop at the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Established in 1990, the organisation focuses on long-term cheetah conservation through research, habitat protection and farmer support programmes. ✔️ Learn how livestock guarding dogs such as Anatolian Shepherds and Kangals reduce predator conflict on farmlands. ✔️ You will visit the education centre and ambassador cheetahs while learning about Namibia’s declining cheetah range and conservation challenges. ✔️ Continue towards Etosha National Park for an afternoon game drive exploring one of Africa’s greatest wildlife conservation areas. The park protects black rhino, elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, zebra and numerous antelope species within a vast semi-arid ecosystem. Mid-range chalet located inside Etosha NP All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
🌎 Spend a full day exploring Etosha National Park with your specialist guide. Covering over 22 000 km², Etosha remains one of Africa’s most important protected wildlife areas. The park was originally proclaimed in 1907 to conserve migratory wildlife populations threatened by uncontrolled hunting and habitat loss. ⭐️ Today it protects black rhino, elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah and more than 340 bird species. Your guide explains the ecological importance of the Etosha Pan, natural waterholes and wildlife management strategies used to sustain biodiversity in this harsh environment. ⭐️ Expect excellent game viewing around productive waterholes where large concentrations of zebra, springbok, wildebeest and elephant gather, attracting predators and scavengers throughout the dry season. Mid-range chalet located inside Etosha NP All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
🌍 Continue west through Etosha towards Hobatere Concession, an important community-linked conservation area bordering western Etosha. ⭐️ The concession belongs to the #Khoadi//Hoas Conservancy and directly supports local communities through conservation tourism revenue, student tuition support and infrastructure projects. Your guide explains how conservancies help reduce human-wildlife conflict while creating incentives for wildlife protection. ✔️ The route through western Etosha offers opportunities for elephant, giraffe, oryx, springbok and lion sightings in a quieter region of the park. ✔️ After dinner, embark on a guided night drive searching for nocturnal species including aardvark, aardwolf, bat-eared fox, Cape fox, genet and porcupine while learning about their adaptations to Namibia’s arid ecosystems. Mid-range lodge located inside Kaokoland All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
🦁 Explore Hobatere Concession with local guides while learning about lion conservation outside Etosha National Park. ⭐️ This region forms part of important wildlife corridors where lions interact with livestock farming communities. ⭐️ Guides explain how organisations such as the Namibian Lion Trust support coexistence through GPS collaring, lion monitoring, predator-proof kraals and local lion guard programmes. ⭐️ These initiatives reduce livestock losses while protecting free-roaming lion populations. ✔️ Morning and afternoon game drives focus on wildlife ecology, birdlife and the importance of conservancy conservation models in Namibia. ✔️ The area supports elephant, lion, giraffe, kudu and extensive mopane woodland ecosystems rich in birdlife and termite mound biodiversity. Mid-range lodge located inside Kaokoland All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 7
🏜️ After breakfast, you will travel into the remote Hoanib River system, one of Namibia’s most important ephemeral river ecosystems linking Damaraland and Kaokoland with the Skeleton Coast. ⭐️ The river supports desert-adapted wildlife surviving in extremely harsh conditions. Along the journey, your guide explains how these seasonal rivers systems sustain elephant movement, predator populations and fragile desert biodiversity. ⭐️ The region remains largely unfenced, allowing natural wildlife movement across vast wilderness landscapes. ⭐️ Learn how low-impact tourism and conservancy partnerships help protect this globally important desert ecosystem. Budget lodge located less than 1hr drive from Kaokoland All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 8
🦁 Spend the day exploring remote desert habitats in search of desert-adapted lions and other specially adapted wildlife. Namibia’s desert lions survive in one of the harshest environments on Earth, with only a small population remaining across the northwest. Guides explain ongoing research conducted by desert lion conservation organisations studying lion movements, behaviour, prey availability and human-lion conflict. ⭐️ Conservation efforts include GPS collaring, community collaboration and monitoring of free-roaming prides outside protected national parks. ⭐️ Although sightings can never be guaranteed, tracking these elusive predators through dry river systems and rugged desert terrain forms one of Namibia’s most exclusive wildlife experiences. The region also supports oryx, springbok, ostrich and occasional desert-adapted elephant. Budget lodge located less than 1hr drive from Kaokoland All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 9
🐘 Journey south towards Palmwag Concession, a vast unfenced wilderness area covering approximately 4500 km² within Namibia’s communal conservancy landscape. 🦏 This rugged region forms part of one of Africa’s largest free-roaming black rhino habitats and supports desert-adapted elephant populations. ⭐️ Unlike fenced reserves, wildlife moves naturally through this open ecosystem shared with local communities. ⭐️ Your guide explains Namibia’s internationally recognised community-based conservation model and how tourism supports wildlife protection in remote regions. ✔️ After lunch, enjoy a scenic sundowner drive exploring dry river systems and rocky valleys in search of desert wildlife. ✔️ Palmwag’s remote landscapes support elephant, giraffe, springbok, oryx, Hartmann’s mountain zebra and occasional predators. Mid-range lodge located inside Palmwag Concession (Damaraland) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 10
🌄 Rise early for one of Namibia’s premier conservation experiences: tracking free-roaming desert-adapted black rhino with local trackers and Rhino Rangers. ⭐️ This conservation initiative combines the efforts of Save the Rhino Trust, local communities and Namibia’s Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism. ✔️ Using expert tracking skills, guides search remote valleys and rugged terrain for one of the world’s last truly wild black rhino populations. The experience involves both 4x4 driving and walking through mountainous desert landscapes. ⭐️ Along the way, you will learn about anti-poaching operations, rhino monitoring techniques and the importance of community involvement in wildlife conservation. ⭐️ This exclusive activity provides rare insight into frontline rhino conservation in Namibia’s northwest. Mid-range lodge located inside Palmwag Concession (Damaraland) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

The suggested itinerary matched perfectly with our preferences. All accommodations were carefully chosen and according to our budget. Everything was very well planned and well communicated in advance (driving times, facilities, activities) and there was still room to profit from last minute opportunities. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable about animals, birds and the country. He was always in a good mood and eager to satisfy our requests and questions. PEA Tours has always been quick to respond when planning the tour. Our Namibian Grand Tour was a wonderful experience and highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore Namibia.
