Day 1
Your journey begins with a flight from Addis Ababa to Jimma, a historic city in southwest Ethiopia known for its rich coffee culture and gateway to some of the country’s most untouched natural regions. Upon arrival (via domestic flight or road trip from Addis Ababa), you’ll be welcomed by your guide and begin the scenic drive to Chebera Churchura National Park. The journey takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, passing through fertile highlands, dense forests, and traditional rural villages. En route, you’ll get glimpses of Ethiopia’s diverse cultures and beautiful landscapes, including coffee farms, terraced fields, and as the sun sets over the forested hills, you'll return to camp for dinner and a briefing from your guide about the adventure ahead. You'll fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the forest under a sky full of stars. Overnight stay camping. Inside Chebera-Churchura NP All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 2
After an early breakfast, you'll set off for a full-day safari inside Chebera Churchura National Park, a haven for wildlife lovers and one of the few remaining strongholds of wild elephants in Ethiopia. Accompanied by a skilled park ranger and local tracker, you’ll drive and hike through the park’s diverse habitats, including savanna grasslands, riverine forests, wetlands, and montane woodlands. Chebera Churchura is home to more than 400 African elephants, and tracking them in their natural environment is a thrilling and unforgettable experience. The park also hosts Cape buffalo, hippos, giant forest hogs, leopards, bushbucks, warthogs, and various species of monkeys and antelopes. Birdwatchers will also be rewarded with sightings of colorful birds such as Turacos, kingfishers, hornbills, bee-eaters, and even raptors like martial eagles. In the evening, you'll return to your lodge, relax around the campfire, and enjoy a traditional dinner while sharing stories from the day. Day 3
Today is dedicated to experiencing the wilder, more secluded side of the park on foot. After breakfast, you'll embark on a guided jungle hike through bamboo forests and thick vegetation to reach the Koka Hot Springs. These naturally heated mineral springs are hidden within the forest and are considered sacred by local communities. You’ll have the chance to dip your feet or soak in the warm waters, an excellent way to relax after the previous day’s safari. From the hot springs, you'll continue trekking to the beautiful Shoshima Waterfalls, one of the park’s scenic highlights. The trail leads you through dense montane forest, alive with birds, butterflies, and occasional primate sightings. In the late afternoon, you’ll have some time to rest or take in sunset views from a nearby lookout point. Dinner is served at the camp, and you may choose to end your day with an optional short night walk to spot nocturnal animals such as civets, genets, or bush babies. Day 4
On your final day, you'll enjoy a relaxed breakfast at camp, soaking in your last views of the lush landscape and listening to the morning chorus of birds. You'll depart Chebera Churchura and begin the journey back to Jimma, once again passing through rolling hills and vibrant countryside. Depending on your schedule, you may stop at a local village or coffee farm along the way for a short cultural interaction, learning about traditional lifestyles, farming techniques, or Ethiopia’s famous coffee-making ceremony. You'll arrive in Jimma in time for your flight or onward travel to Addis Ababa. Your journey may be short, but the memories of Chebera Churchura’s wild beauty, rich wildlife, and remote serenity will stay with you for a lifetime. I was able to get a spare time for few days in Ethiopia since I came for business, but thanks to my friend's recommendation I contact with Ethio Backpacker Tours and they provided an excellent city tour in Addis Ababa. I visit the important places such as national museum, entoto park and big market merkato. Thanks for the excellent hospitalities!

I recently completed a week journey through Ethiopia with Ethio Backpacker Tours, and it was truly unforgettable. The first three days in the Danakil Depression showcased the extreme beauty of one of the hottest places on Earth. From there, we spent three days exploring the Omo Valley, experiencing the vibrant culture of its diverse tribes and finally a city tour of Addis Ababa. Thank you Gashaw for such an extraordinary adventure!

My trip to Ethiopia was unforgettable, thanks to Ethio Backpacker Tours! With only six days off for my holiday, I was eager to explore this beautiful country that had long been on my bucket list. Gashaw organized everything perfectly, helping me prioritize what to see in such a short time. One of the most incredible experiences was witnessing the active volcano at Erta Ale. Seeing the lava exploding in the lava lake was beyond anything I had ever imagined. The raw power of nature was awe-inspiring, and I’m so grateful I had the chance to witness it.
