Day 1
From mile-high Johannesburg to the ever-warm Lowveld Kruger Park for your first sunset safari
Depart from the bus terminal at Johannesburg International Airport at 07h00 on a shared minibus to the city of Nelspruit, where you will be met and transferred to the lodge. Check into your Premium Riverview room, featuring an en-suite bathroom and an open balcony overlooking the river. Relax and take in the view of the Kruger National Park, where you may spot wildlife nearby. Perhaps have lunch (optional) in the restaurant, dip in the pool, or explore the large, well-maintained grounds and garden. Later this afternoon, depending on the time of year, you will be collected for your sunset safari drive into the KNP, returning later in the evening to have dinner at the lodge. Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the bush and connect with nature around you as you relax under the African stars on the lodge's open deck. Have a late-evening swim or buy a drink at the bar. The lodge has Wi-Fi, so you can share your first pictures and messages with friends and family. Day 2
Kruger National Park safaris in one of the most animal-rich regions of the park
This morning, you'll arise at dawn and go for your first sunrise safari with the park ranger, this special time of day as the Kruger awakens and comes to life. Hopefully, there will be a matriarchal herd of elephants with babies or a savage but necessary lion kill, perhaps a majestic giraffe or a herd of stern-looking African buffalo. There are thrilling encounters around every corner! Afterwards, return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the middle of the day at leisure. Relax at the pool or spend time enjoying the views from your Premium River View room balcony or from the deck at the restaurant. Lunch can be enjoyed on the deck at Pestana Kruger Lodge, which overlooks the Crocodile River and the Kruger Park (at your own cost). Later this afternoon, you will be collected for your late-afternoon/sunset open-vehicle safari, and after your game drive, you will return to Pestana Kruger Lodge for dinner. Day 4
Sunrise safari and transfer back to Johannesburg
Go for your last safari drive at dawn in the KNP. Please note that you can replace any of your morning game drives on this safari with safari walks with armed ranger as escort. This needs to be arranged in advance, and you must let us know at least a week or two before your trip. A walk in the bush gives an entirely different perspective to driving and looking from above. A more down to earth view of things. After breakfast at the lodge, you will be collected by our driver and start your journey back to Johannesburg. Arrival back in Johannesburg is between 17h30 and 18h00. If you're going to Cape Town, there is a convenient flight leaving at lunchtime every day from a local airport, and we can drop you there (in which case we will refund or discount the shuttle fare back to Johannesburg). If you're short on time, it is possible to arrive and depart from the local airport instead of driving. Please ask us about the price of this option. Awesome tour. Well worth the early wake up. Was truly an epic experience seeing so many animals up close. Lion, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes,hippos and rhinos to name a few. Our guide Willem was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Can’t go wrong with this experience

For our first trip to South Africa, I looked for an animal sighting tour that would accommodate the needs of our family party, including myself, my 85 y/o mother, and an 18 y/o nephew.
