Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve – Into the Wild
The safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, journeying southwest toward the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. En route, you will pause at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for stunning photo opportunities. By midday, you'll arrive at the Masai Mara Sopa Lodge, nestled in the reserve’s wooded hills. After a warm welcome and a delicious lunch, you’ll head out for your first afternoon game drive in the vast open plains of the Mara. This initial drive offers chances to spot elephants, giraffes, lions, and more as the sun dips behind the acacia trees. Safari in Masai Mara National Reserve – Wildlife Wonders
You'll wake up early for a full-day wildlife viewing experience in Masai Mara. With picnic lunchboxes packed, you’ll explore deeper into the reserve, searching for the iconic Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—as well as cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birdlife. Depending on the season, you may witness dramatic river crossings during the Great Migration or the calm beauty of the savannah teeming with year-round wildlife. Your professional guide will share insights about animal behavior, conservation efforts, and local ecosystems throughout the day. Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast and check-out, there is an opportunity to visit a traditional Maasai village (optional) for a cultural experience that includes dancing, storytelling, and learning about Maasai traditions and ways of life. The journey then continues to Lake Naivasha, where you'll arrive in time for lunch at the lovely Eseriani The Resort. After settling in, the afternoon features a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, gliding through waters dotted with hippos and vibrant birdlife such as fish eagles and kingfishers. The Tour operator was diligent in how he handled us
Our trip to Hells Gates coutesy of Kriproto Safaris was marvelous. The tour guide ensured that all the requirements in terms of documents and suppliers were available even before the start of the journey. Not only did he ensure that we got on site early enough but also made sure we got to visit all the scenic places within reach though not part of the itinerary.
