Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
In Ruaha, the only missing member of the Big Five (lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard and rhino) is the rhino - there have not been any in the park for years. There is no doubt that Ruaha is one of Africa's finest destinations for big cats. The lion concentration here is as high as anywhere we know. A very strong lion population virtually goes hand in hand with healthy buffalo herds, while Ruaha's elephant herds are seriously impressive.

Day 4
Lions live here in large prides, often numbering over twenty individuals! Leopards and cheetahs love hunting on the open plains, while many smaller species are equally at home here – serval, caracal, civet, genet and banded wildcat. Cheetahs are remarkably common, making seeing the three main cat species very likely – something rare in Africa nowadays. Other mammals also thrive in Ruaha in abundance. The park’s elephant herds are absolutely humongous! Buffalo are plentiful too, as are zebra, giraffe, hippopotamus and an exciting assortment of antelope species such as roan, sable, eland, impala, gazelle, reedbuck, hartebeest, klipspringer – and the largest population of greater kudu in all of East Africa! Predators, besides the cats, include black-backed jackal, spotted hyena and (less common) striped hyena. The park is also an important area for wild dog, hosting over a hundred dogs at last count. You will be dropped off in Iringa. Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

5.0/5We went on a week safari with Destiny Explorers in Tanzania back in August. This was the best experience we’ve ever had. The guide was super nice and explained to us a lot of things about the animals, their culture, etc. We went to some different national parks and were able to see the big five! The roads are long, but it’s worth every single km. About the accomodation, this company has a really good price compared to others and the hotels/lodges were fantastic every day. Clean, nice and the people there was really caring. You can’t miss sleeping in a camp inside the Serengeti!

We had an amazing time on our 10-day safari with Destiny Explorers. From the initial quote until our trip commenced, Issa was quick to respond to any questions or requests we had. Our guide Nico greeted us with a warm smile that rarely left his face as he expertly drove us to all that we wanted to see, all while educating us on the wildlife and cultures we were experiencing for the first time. We’ve travelled a lot on a modest budget, and all of our lodgings either met expectations or far exceeded them. We would 100% book this again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Destiny Explorers to handle your once-in-a-lifetime Tanzanian adventure!

We had an excellent experience with Destiny Explorers during our day trip from Moshi to Arusha and back to Kilimanjaro International Airport. The communication was clear, the timing precise, and the driver was professional, polite, and dependable throughout the journey. Everything went smoothly and exactly as planned, making it a service I would confidently recommend to anyone visiting Tanzania.

We went on a 4-day tour to: Lake Manyara, Central Serengeti, Ngongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. First of all, the communication beforehand with Destiny Explores went very good, they had a quick response time, were flexible in thinking along and anticipated quickly to give you a secure feeling. Secondly, the driver Hussain - he is a amazing person and he was our walking Tanzanian Google. His experience in the field is just tremendous he knew so much about the nature, animals, vegetation, tribes etc.. Therefore we learned so much about Tanzania due to his knowledge. One day another car in the mountains was having issues and Hussain was there to help them, this shows his character as a great human-being. May God bless him and his family. Amen. Furthermore, the lodges were we stayed: Foresight Eco and Tukaone Serengeti Camp were clean, good food, wifi and very very friendly people. Hence, I can highly recommend Destiny Explores they will give you a truly beautiful experience. No doubt!
