Day 1
The Magic of the Namib Desert
When you arrive at Windhoek International Airport, a pilot will welcome you and assist you to the aircraft for a flight of roughly an hour to your destination. Kwessi Dunes Lodge is located within the NamibRand Nature Reserve, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding desert, graced with fairy circles and framed by rugged mountains. The lodge offers a variety of activities, including scenic drives, quad biking, nature walks, and stargazing. As the day draws to a close, savor a delightful meal beneath the African night sky. Early the following morning, you'll embark on an expedition into the Namib Desert, where you'll encounter towering dunes like Dune 45 and Big Daddy Dune. Revel in the vistas of Sossusvlei and explore the beauty of Deadvlei, with its blackened trees, before experiencing the refreshing coolness of Sesriem Canyon. For those seeking more adventure, optional activities such as hot air balloon rides and horseback riding are available for an additional cost. Wildlife at Etosha National Park
From Sossusvlei, it's a flight of approximately three-hours and twenty-minutes with two possible stops en route to your destination, the vast Etosha. Named after the immense pan, this distinguished wildlife sanctuary ranks among Africa's largest parks, featuring the majority of the Big Five. Ongava Lodge is perched upon rocky dolomite hills, affording a splendid view of a bustling waterhole teeming with wildlife. This luxurious resort prides itself on exceptional service, and the dedicated staff are committed to fulfilling your every need. You'll enjoy game drives led by experienced guides to discover the area's hidden treasures, experience thrilling encounters with wildlife from a hide and on foot, or simply unwind at the lodge while soaking in the breathtaking views. In the evening, the lodge offers excellent stargazing opportunities. Morning game drives commence before sunrise, and afternoon game drives typically conclude with a sundowner experience.
