Tour step
You'll be collected from the airport. Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
Day 1
For this tour, you will have to arrive a day before the tour starts. From Maun, you will be picked up from your self-booked lodge and we will drive to Xakanaxa and Third Bridge Area, one of the best wilderness areas of the Moremi Game Reserve, which covers swamp and dry areas of the Okavango. We will start early in the morning. The late afternoon will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. *This journey will take around 4 to 5 hours depending on animal sightings along the way. Day’s Activities -Road transfer to Xakanaxa -Set up camp -Afternoon game drive -Campfire stories Your overnight stay will be at a campsite [1 night]. Inside Okavango Delta (Botswana) All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 2
You'll be exploring the Okavango Delta, one of Africa's most remarkable natural places. The Delta floods every year, and the trails differ depending on the water levels. The interplay of water and dry land makes for some fascinating wildlife encounters. Expect sightings of elephants, hippos, crocs, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and more, and the big cats are never far away. The wake-up call is at 5:30 am. You will hurriedly have a tee or coffee and a small breakfast snack and then set out on your morning game drive! You return to camp at around 8:30 am for a delicious breakfast. In the afternoon, depending on the availability and water levels, we will take you for a complimentary boat drive upstream into the delta. You will wrap up the day with an evening game drive around Xakanaka Lagoon. Day’s activities: -Early morning game drive -Late afternoon game drive. Inside Okavango Delta (Botswana) All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 3
The wake-up call is at around 5:30 am. We will drive out to try to catch the ‘cats’ in action! We will spend most of the drive exploring the awe-inspiring lagoons and corners of the Moremi Game Reserve and its neighboring wildlife-rich areas. This increases the chances of spotting the members of the Big Five. We will return to the camp at around 8:00 am, where food will be awaiting us. After breakfast, we will break camp and drive to Khwai. Our game drive here explores the region surrounding the Khwai River (Northeast Moremi / Khwai Concession). A mokoro excursion will take you along the Khwai River to view the game from another perspective and experience this tranquil traditional transport mode. Day’s activities: -Early morning game drive -Late afternoon game drive -Mokoro excursion -Breakfast, lunch, dinner Your overnight stay will be at the camp [1 night]. Bordering Khwai Concession (Okavango Delta, Botswana) without fences All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 4
In the morning at 8:30 am after breakfast and after the camp is dismantled, drive to the most south-western part of Chobe National Park, the Savuti region. We will arrive around 12:00 pm. Irrigated by the unpredictable Savuti Channel of the Okavango, the area is famous for its unworldly landscapes and, of course, for its predators especially the lion prides that have adapted and now specialize in hunting elephants. After arriving and setting up the camp, lunch will be served. In the late afternoon, we will take you on a game drive through the area and visit the Savuti marsh with very good chances to experience lions up close on a hunt. In the evening you return to the camp, where a delicious dinner awaits you. Round off the day at the campfire under a stunning starry sky surrounded by sounds of wildlife. Day’s activities: -Road trip to Savuti and set camp -Late afternoon game drive -Breakfast, lunch, dinner Your overnight stay will be at the camp [1 night]. Inside Savuti (Chobe NP, Botswana) All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 5
In the morning after breakfast, we will break camp and set off northbound towards Kasane, Chobe National Park. Here you drive through the Goha Gate, pass the Chobe Forest Reserve and the villages of Kachikau, Kavimba, and Muchenje as we drive along the Botswana-Namibia border. The 70km stretch between Savuti and Kachikau demands at least 2.5 hours as we navigate the challenging fine white sands of north-western Botswana. From Kachikau onwards, we will cruise comfortably on a tarmac road. We will shortly explore the Chobe waterfront as we pass through and arrive in Kasane at 13:30Hrs. We will then check in at Water Lily for our Kasane stay. After lunch, we will relax and enjoy civilization and its amenities before resuming our safari adventure by taking a sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River in the park. Day’s activities: -Drive to Kasane. -Check in at the lodge. -Boat cruise -Breakfast, lunch, dinner Your overnight stay will be at the lodge [1 night]. Budget lodge in Kasane (Town, Botswana) All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 6
We will resume our excursion early in the morning as we will do a game drive in the park. This is a “one of a kind” experience as the Chobe area is one of the finest wildlife reserves on the African continent. The animal density and diversity are uncomperable. The Chobe is famous for its large herds of elephants. Go on a search for animals that you have not been able to get before the camera lens! Day’s Activities: -Morning game drive -Breakfast -Transfer to Victoria Falls The Botswana part of your adventure ends here. We will then facilitate a smooth transfer into Zimbabwe, where you will be transported in an air-conditioned minivan to the border and then all the way to your lodge; Shearwaters Explorers Village, or Pioneers Victoria Falls (according to availability). The border crossing will be at around 1:00 pm and you will reach your lodge latest at 2:30 pm. Mid-range guest house located at Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 7
A self-Paced leisurely tour of the Victoria Falls and optional Mosi-oa-Tunya National Parks. Here, unlike in Botswana, it is NOT necessary to book or do your tour of the national parks with a guide. The Falls are explored on foot. There are well-built walkways and pathways that one simply follows leading to various viewpoints along the way. Be aware that some people may try to offer you guided tours there, it’s not necessary! The lodge will provide shuttle services at an extra cost to and from the Falls or if not, then they will arrange a certified taxi for you. Activities (at own cost and timing): -Explore the grand Victoria Falls. -Enjoy a self-paced tour of the cultural village (optional). -Walk on the mighty Zambezi River. -Optional activities at own cost (rafting, helicopter scenic flights, etc). Mid-range guest house located at Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 8
Our journey ends here. After breakfast and checking out at the lodge, you will be transferred to the airport or assisted through the border. We will provide full assistance. You'll need to rise the issues, be it with airport transfers or hotel bookings, etc. to ensure a smooth handover to your next adventure or your return trip home. Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

We were a family group of 6 that wanted to travel only with our group. We knew the area and animals we wanted to see and the number of days we could travel. To say that Sekanka camp staff were beyond our wildest expectations is an understatement. Our cook was constantly amazing us with homemade breads and treats made in a camp fire stove box. She fed all of us including a picky vegetarian, and we loved every meal. Our leader Lowe was the kindest, hardest working man who would do anything for you - and did. He will always be considered part of our family. Our Guide Eddie was top notch. He knew every single animal, bird and plant we looked at. He could spot a hidden lion in a split second that we couldn’t see for minutes after he stopped and pointed her out. He knew every road and path in every park, was patient with our questions and game for anything we wanted to do. We really never thought we’d find could find a safari for just the six of us that we would be able to afford. Once we got to Africa we were still afraid that maybe it was too good to be true and no one would pick us up - but Sekanka was there for us every step of the way. We would go back in a heartbeat

Our safari took us over 13 days from Maun to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. After two days, we continued to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. From there, three days later, we went back to Maun for an overnight stay. From there, we drove to the Okavango Delta to the Moremi Game Reserve, and from there via Khwai and Savuti to the Chobe River Front and Kasan, where our safari ended after 13 days. I had planned the course of the safari myself and discussed its implementation with Sekanka Safari Tours (especially with Anna and Tepo) by email. Sekanka Safari Tours perfectly realized my ideas. Everything worked out wonderfully, and we (four participants) together with the Sekanka team (five people; one guide, one cook, and three camp attendants) had a marvelous time on this extraordinary safari. The costs for this custom safari were reasonable compared to other safari tours. All four participants were of the opinion that they would go on a safari tour with Sekanka again.

The Land Cruiser was old, but robust and in good condition. Our guide was an excellent driver. He knew not only the roads, but also the animals and plants we encountered. We had all the time we wanted to take photographs. There was always a plentiful supply of drinks, and any drink requests were fulfilled immediately. Wine was always served with dinner, and it was well chilled at our request. The tents for the night were always set up by a small support team before our arrival. We usually stayed for two nights, and after the first night, the tent was perfectly cleaned and tidied. We had our own cook with us, who prepared perfect multi-course meals for us over an open fire. We sat together around the campfire before and after dinner. We were a small group, four travelers and five people to serve us. It was wonderful, and we got along very well with the service team.
