Day 1
Your private Tapestry of Africa safari guide will welcome you in Nairobi, either at your hotel or upon arrival at the airport. From there, set off toward the remote beauty of Meru National Park. Arrive around midday and check into your lodge, set in a quiet and scenic area of the park. After lunch, head out for your first afternoon game drive. Meru is wild and rarely visited, offering peaceful game viewing and dramatic landscapes. Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, hippos, and birdlife. The next morning begins with a guided walking safari, an incredible way to experience the bush on foot. You’ll also visit Elsa the Lioness’s memorial, a moving site tied to the Born Free legacy. After a relaxed lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive through Meru’s varied terrain. Returning to your lodge, enjoy a sundowner as you toast to the beautiful sights of the day. After dinner, enjoy an exciting night game drive and see the nocturnal wildlife come to life. Day 3
After breakfast, drive north into the drier, rugged lands of Samburu National Reserve. This striking landscape of rocky hills and riverine forest offers a distinct change of scenery. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and then head out on a game drive. Samburu is home to unique wildlife not seen elsewhere in Kenya, including reticulated giraffes, Somali ostriches, and Beisa oryx, part of the famous “Samburu Special Five”. Spend the next day on morning and afternoon game drives, returning to your lodge for lunch and some rest in between. Samburu is known for its excellent leopard sightings and large herds of elephants that frequent the Ewaso Nyiro River. With fewer visitors, the experience here is quiet, unhurried, and deeply rewarding. Luxury tented camp located inside Samburu NR All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
Begin your journey with a scenic 3–4 hour drive from Samburu into the stunning landscapes of the Loisaba Conservancy. As the terrain opens into rolling hills and wide savannas, you’ll arrive at your lodge or camp and enjoy a relaxing lunch with beautiful views. In the afternoon, head out for your first Loisaba game drive. Return to your lodge for a peaceful evening surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness. The following day is dedicated to discovering more of Loisaba’s untouched beauty. You can venture out for a full-day safari with a picnic lunch in the bush or enjoy a morning game drive followed by downtime at the lodge before heading out again in the afternoon. Whether you choose an all-day adventure or a split day of exploration and relaxation, every moment in Loisaba offers exceptional wildlife viewing and unforgettable scenery in one of Kenya’s most pristine private conservancies. Luxury lodge located inside Loisaba Conservancy (Laikipia Plateau) All meals included All drinks (Premium wines & liquors might be excluded)
Day 7
This morning, depart for the Mount Kenya region and begin with a visit to the Mount Kenya Wildlife Orphanage. This important facility rehabilitates animals that have been injured or orphaned in the wild. You’ll learn about Kenya’s wildlife protection efforts and meet some of the center’s current residents- cheetahs, monkeys, and other rescued species. Check into your lodge for dinner and a well-deserved rest. In the afternoon, continue to the rare Bongo Sanctuary. The eastern bongo is one of Africa’s most elusive antelopes, and this sanctuary works to protect and breed them. Walk with a guide through the forested habitat as you learn about these shy, beautiful creatures. Return to your lodge in time to relax and take in peaceful views of Mount Kenya’s slopes. Luxury resort located in Nanyuki (Town) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 8
After breakfast, head to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, home to East Africa’s largest population of black rhinos. Begin your day with a guided visit to the Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll see these endangered giants up close and learn about the fight to save their species. This is also home to the last remaining northern white rhinos on Earth, a powerful and humbling encounter. After checking in and enjoying lunch at your lodge, spend the afternoon exploring more of Ol Pejeta. Visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, established in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute, and go on one final game drive across the conservancy’s diverse landscape. From lions to zebras to elephants, it’s a fitting conclusion to your off-the-beaten-path safari. Luxury tented camp located inside Mutara (Ol Pejeta Conservancy) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 9
Enjoy breakfast at your lodge before beginning the return drive to Nairobi. Depending on your schedule, you may stop for lunch or visit a craft market en route. 5.0/5Our 10-day African safari to Kenya and Tanzania was magical and memorable! We are so glad we chose to go with Tapestry of Africa because we were taken care of from the very beginning, from the video call to discuss itinerary options and prompt answers to every question (and there were a lot). The suggested accommodations were beyond expectations (even got the honeymoon suite at one - which was nice since we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary) and the food at each of them was excellent - some offering à la cart and others buffet style, which made for a nice variety during our stay. Albert, Hilda and Matt were there checking in on us prior to the trip and throughout and our guides, Alex and Ernest, took care of us through each of the parks and made sure we saw animals and had a great time. We really loved having the pop-up roof Land Cruiser all to ourselves and the personalized care and insights that each guide provided. We were very happy with the time of year we chose to go - as the weather was not too hot or too cold and not crowded! The bonus of booking with Tapestry of Africa was the humanitarian efforts that the organization provides with dental care to underserved African communities!

We just finished our safari with Tapestry of Africa and overall a great experience. We felt the price was great and our accomodation was very comfortable, especially our last stay in Amboselli at the Tortellis camp. A note to others that there is a lot of driving involved and over some very rough roads so be prepared for that. Also arrival times at some lodges are usually later than expected so again be prepared for this. Having said that we loved it all and were very happy with this company.

I started planning my safari vacation a year ahead and after reviewing several operators, I chose to go with Tapestry of Africa. Initially it was because of the quick response to my many queries, their patience with my constantly changing itinerary and their ability to immediately understand that this was a dream vacation for my family and I. Matt, Albert and Hilda worked with me patiently for 8 months on the most suitable itinerary, best accommodation within my budget and the experiences I was looking for - meticulously planning every minute detail. Matt’s input was invaluable and he sent me photos and videos of places, accommodations and experiences that we could have. I was indecisive about Lake Naivasha and Matt took a video of his boat ride on the lake to show me what it would be like! I was not sure of the lodge in Amboseli and Matt sent me a personal photo of his visit to Amboseli……The trip was perfect in every aspect thanks to Tapestry. In fact it was beyond expectation. There is not one thing I would change. I have traveled extensively in many countries and I have worked with a lot of tour operators, but with Tapestry of Africa, I felt like I had a friend or family helping me plan this vacation. From the day we landed in Nairobi till the day we returned home, someone from Tapestry was always checking in on us - was the drive ok, was the accommodation ok, how the safari was going, did we need anything….I felt I had a friend who was looking out for us at all times. Of course we saw a lot of animals, of course the places we visited were magical and the experience simply out of this world. But the best part of the vacation was the service and care provided by Tapestry. Hilda checked on us as we were waiting to board our return flight, after the vacation! I have never had a tour operator make sure I reached home safe and sound after the vacation! Hilda made sure we reached home! Along with helping plan the most perfect vacation, Tapestry will provide personal care and attention. They go above and beyond their call of duty. We went to Kenya for a vacation and returned not only with fabulous memories and unforgettable moments but also with a deep bond with the team at Tapestry. Most tour operators will organize a safari vacation but Tapestry stands out as one that truly cares about their clients.

Tapestry of Africa was the perfect choice for us. After doing a group tour in southern Africa the previous year we realised that this time we wanted to maximise the time spent in the national parks with the animals so Kenya was perfect. I was looking for a longer trip, around 3 weeks, that was packed with safari days. There were only a few companies I could find doing longer trips that included Tsavo N.P. We wanted to go to Tanzania as part of the trip, specifically the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. I found Tapestry on Safari Bookings as they had a perfect trip listed. Tapestry had amazing communication and flexibility when booking, allowing me to get my dream trip to everywhere I wanted to go for a suitable budget and timeframe. Matt at Tapestry will make sure your trip is exactly what you want, you won’t just be another booking as you will be with some other companies. We also contacted a larger company who were too pushy to get the sale, only focusing on telling us how many reviews they had. We had separate guides and vehicles in Kenya and Tanzania but we had a great time in both. Our guides were both very experienced, friendly and professional (and we had a really great time with them). Thanks to the knowledge and networking of our guides, the overload of animals we saw made sure that our cameras were never put away. We will go back for another trip in a few years and we will talk to Tapestry because they listened to what we wanted and we trust them to deliver a great trip.
