Day 1
Zanzibar- Mikumi National Park
Begin your safari with a morning flight from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred by road to Mikumi National Park, which takes approximately 4–5 hours. Mikumi is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and hippos. After arriving at the park, enjoy an afternoon game drive, taking in the beautiful savannah scenery and observing animals in their natural habitats. In the evening, check in to Camp Bastian Mikumi, a comfortable mid-range lodge offering spacious rooms with en-suite bathrooms and private balconies overlooking the savannah. Day 2
Mikumi- Ruaha National Park
After breakfast at the lodge, head out for a morning game drive in Mikumi National Park. This early excursion gives you the best chance to spot active wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and zebras. Return to the lodge around midday for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, depart Mikumi and drive approximately 3-4 hours to Ruaha National Park. Upon arrival, check in to Ruaha Hilltop Lodge, a mid-range lodge perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the park. Enjoy dinner at the lodge and overnight, resting after the day’s travel and wildlife encounters. Day 3
Full game drive in Ruaha National Park
Spend the day exploring Ruaha National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. The park is vast and offers excellent opportunities to see lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and a variety of antelopes and birds. For a unique experience, consider a guided walking safari with a park ranger to explore the flora and smaller wildlife up close. Ruaha Game Drive then Zanzibar
Start your day with breakfast at the lodge, followed by a morning game drive in Ruaha National Park. Enjoy the early wildlife activity and take in the serene landscapes one last time. Return to the lodge around midday for lunch. After lunch, begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, which takes approximately 5–6 hours. From Dar es Salaam, board your flight back to Zanzibar, arriving in the afternoon or evening. This concludes your 4-day safari adventure, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes.
