Day 1
Nairobi- Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, you'll depart from our Nairobi hotel for a scenic road to Naivasha. You will arrive in time for lunch at the resort. After lunch, you'll have the option of enjoying a boat ride on the beautiful Lake Naivasha, which is the second-largest freshwater lake in Kenya. It is a haven for more than 200 species of birds, including the fish eagles, ospreys, lily-trotters, black crakes, and a variety of herons. The waters of the lake draw in a great range of game to its shores, from giraffes wandering among the acacia to buffalo wallowing in the swamps, to Colobus monkeys calling from the treetops while the Lake's largest hippopotamus population sleeps the day out in the shallows of the lake. Alternatively, visit Crescent Island, which has a flat terrain allowing you to enjoy a relaxed walk as you watch the giraffes, waterbucks, wildebeests, zebras, and impalas peacefully graze. Day 2
Lake Naivasha- Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, you will check out and then head for Lake Nakuru Park, regarded by avid birders as the greatest World ornithological spectacle on Earth. The park is famous for its millions of pink flamingoes lining the lake shore, arriving by mid-morning at Lake Nakuru for a game drive en route before checking-in at The Cliff Nakuru for Lunch. Afternoon game drive followed by a walk along the shores, which will also allow us to see the many wild animals in the park, and especially the park is a sanctuary to the black rhino, white rhino, and the Rothschild giraffe. Here, you’ll have the chance to look out at some of the common species like the lesser and greater flamingoes, African fish eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White and Pink-Backed Pelicans, plus other intra-African Migrants. Lake Nakuru- Masai Mara National Reserve
You'll have an early morning drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve. It's an unmissable highlight of any holiday in Kenya. It holds on as one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and attendant predators. The Masai Mara is, without a doubt, one of the greatest destinations in African safaris. You'll arrive in time for lunch and then have an afternoon game drive from 4:00 pm. Full-Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
You’ll be up early to enjoy the awakening day and the birdsong on the great reserve. This is a day of unlimited game drives, so get ready to check off the animals on your “to see” list. The Masai Mara features the greatest density of wildlife in this region of Africa, and you’re right in the middle of the action. Should you be here during the Great Migration (July – October), you’ll be witness to the sight of thousands of gazelle, zebra, and wildebeest streaming over the Mara River in search of sustenance. We’ll visit the river and enjoy a picnic lunch, checking out the hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife action play out before us. If you wish, you can take an optional visit to the local Maasai people in their village. You’ll learn about their customs, herding lifestyle, and perhaps pick up some of their beaded handiwork or a balloon safari at an extra cost. Masai Mara- Nairobi
After an early wake-up call and a cup of coffee, you will have an early morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast before driving back to Nairobi. There will be a stopover in Narok town for lunch. After lunch, you'll proceed to Nairobi. On arrival, we transfer you to your hotel or the airport for your journey back home. I was referred to Arzoni Africa Safaris by a friend. My Canadian boyfriend informed me around June that he was planning to have spend a two weeks safari and beach relaxation in Kenya and Tanzania. Parks of his interest were Mara, Lake Nakuru, Samburu, Amboseli, Taita hills, Ol Pajeta and Lake Naivasha. Sam made our safari planning seamless and every request by my boyfriend and I were considered in the final itinerary. Overally, we had 10 days of safari and 4 nights in Zanzibar. The choice of accommodations was amazing and our expectations were met. Food was also excellent except in Elewana Tortilis (Amboseli) which were somewhat too spicy.
