Day 1
Leave the city bustle behind as you ascend into the cool, emerald highlands of Aberdare. En route, stop in Sagana for a warm Kenyan coffee and breathtaking views of the Tana River or a similar place (your guide will let you know). At Aberdare Country Club or The Ark Lodge, check in and unwind to birdsong and misty mountain breezes. An afternoon game drive within the park introduces you to forest elephants, bushbuck, and possibly a shy leopard slipping through the undergrowth. Tonight, sleep surrounded by the stillness of the forest and the distant echo of waterfalls. Drive time: 4 hrs from Nairobi with a pit stop at Sagana for coffee or snacks. Mid-range lodge located inside Aberdare NP Lunch & dinner (Breakfast not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 2
After breakfast, descend into Kenya’s northern frontier. The lush fades to rugged as you journey to Samburu National Reserve — home of the rare Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. Arrive in time for lunch, rest, then head out for your first sunset game drive. The dry landscape glows with ochre light, elephants graze under doum palms, and Samburu warriors wave as you pass. The evening ends with a fire-lit dinner beneath a sky spilling stars. Drive time: 5 hrs with a scenic pit stop in Nanyuki for a short stretch and view of Mt. Kenya. Mid-range lodge bordering Samburu NR without fences All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
Wake to the calls of hornbills and the soft rustling of doum palms. Set off after breakfast for a full-day game drive through Samburu’s unique semi-arid wilderness. You’re in search of the “Samburu Special Five”—Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and gerenuk. Stop for a picnic lunch beneath an acacia tree before continuing your search. In the late afternoon, visit a Samburu cultural village, where colorful beadwork, proud traditions, and warm storytelling connect you to Kenya’s rich heritage. Tonight, sit under the stars and feel how vast and sacred this land truly is. Mid-range lodge bordering Samburu NR without fences All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
Start the day slow. After breakfast, take a scenic 2.5-hr drive through dry highlands to Reteti — a community-run sanctuary rescuing and rewilding orphaned baby elephants. Witness feeding time, watch them play, and hear stories of second chances told by local keepers. The experience is emotional, grounding, and deeply inspiring. Return to Samburu in time for a quiet afternoon by the river or an optional sunset drive. Tonight’s dinner is a farewell to Samburu’s dust and wonder. Mid-range lodge bordering Samburu NR without fences All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
After breakfast, drive 3.5 hours south to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Break the trip with a stop at Nanyuki town’s Java House or a similar place (your guide will let you know) a clean, safe spot for coffee, snacks, and restrooms. Arrive at Ol Pejeta just in time for lunch and check-in. Later, explore the sanctuary on an afternoon game drive—home to the Big 5, but most movingly, the last two northern white rhinos. You'll also visit the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, where you’ll witness their intelligence and stories of survival. The experience is powerful a reminder of what’s at stake and why wild spaces must endure. Mid-range hotel located just outside Ol Pejeta Conservancy (Laikipia Plateau) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
After breakfast, say goodbye to this vast land and start your return journey. Along the way, take in the changing landscapes and reflect on the wild moments you’ve lived. Arrive in Nairobi by early afternoon, full of memories and new stories to tell. Drive time: ~4 hrs to Nairobi with a rest break and coffee in Thika or Sagana (your driver guide will let you know). Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

Solomon is a very nice and well-educated man, a simple and honest man. He is our bodyguard in the city, and even follows us to protect our safety when we go to the supermarket. In the nature reserve, he is our tour guide, with eyes like an eagle, and he takes us to see many wonderful moments of animals. In short, this is a perfect trip to Africa. Solomon is a highly competent and experienced driver and guide. On the very first day, he arrived at our guesthouse on time to pick us up, and his perfectly maintained 4x4 vehicle looked especially powerful and impressive. On the Maasai Mara plains, we saw several lion prides, countless wildebeest, zebras, and various other animals. Solomon was always the first to get information about animal sightings and quickly drove us there to witness them. We also saw many elephant herds in Amboseli National Park, and during a night drive in Amboseli, we encountered some animals we had never seen before — it was an amazing experience. My family and I are extremely satisfied with this adventure trip, and we would definitely come back if we have the chance. Once Africa, always Africa!
