Day 1
Pick Up, Kigali City Tour & Drive to the Hotel
Depending on your landing time at the airport, our English/French-speaking staff/driver-guide will come to pick you up from the airport. Then, you'll drive to the Kigali City tour, where you will get a chance to explore and visit different sites of the city, such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the biggest local market in Kigali called Kimironko, Nyamirambo, where Kigali is the capital, and many more interesting sites for travelers. Then, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will choose the best restaurant in the city to have lunch. After enjoying lunch, you will drive to your booked hotel and check in for dinner and your overnight stay. Day 2
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will wake up in the morning and then have your breakfast. After that, our driver-guide will come to pick you up and then drive you to the Northern province of Rwanda, where Volcanoes National Park is located. On arrival, you will continue with check-in at your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 3
Mountain Gorillas Trekking & Overnight Stay in Volcanoes National Park
Early in the morning, after your breakfast, with your packed lunch, our driver-guide will come to pick you up from the lodge and then drive you to the park headquarters, where you'll get a briefing about how to behave around mountain gorillas when you meet them in the habitat. Then, you'll proceed to trek gorillas. After the remarkable experience with the gorillas, the driver-guide will take you back to your lodge for a hot lunch. Afterward, you will continue with visiting twin lakes, which are Bulera and Ruhondo, with a driver-guide. After the lake enjoyment, he will bring you back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 4
Golden Monkeys Trekking & Transfer to Lake Kivu
In the morning, after your breakfast, a Lion Safaris driver guide will come to pick you up and drive you to the park office for golden monkeys registration and get a briefing about how to behave around golden monkeys when you meet them in their natural Habitat. On arrival by the start of walk point, you will walk into natural bamboo forest with a local guide all the way to the golden monkeys where you will enjoy them with taking many photos as you will need, then after that special moment you will walk down back to the driver-guide who will drive you straight to one of the best restaurants in Musanze town for lunch. After lunch, it will be the drive to Lake Kivu and check in to your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 5
Boat Ride at Lake Kivu & Overnight Stay
You will wake up in the morning, have a late breakfast then our Lion Safaris driver-guide will come to pick you up. He'll drive you to Lake Kivu, where you will start the boat ride and get a chance to explore the lake with a visit to the thermal boiling water, birds, fishermen, different islands in the lake, and other sites of the lake. After that amazing time, our driver-guide will choose for you the best restaurant in Gisenyi/Rubavu town for lunch. After lunch, it will be the drive back to your hotel, then have an evening of relaxation and an overnight stay. If you need to continue with swimming, the driver-guide will suggest the safest point to swim. Then, you will be driven back later to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. We went to akagera park with lion safari and it was so great and a lot of fun. Joel, our tour guide knew all the good spot and a lot of facts about the animal. We saw over 40 elephant!! Emile, the owner, made sure we had a good time. I recommand to book the safari with lion safaris for a great experience.

Great communication. Great Service. Reliable and as advertised. Did a 3 day Gorilla trekking and Golden monkey hike. Gorillas were the star of this trip and Lion Safaris was great at planning it. Emile is a local Rwandan and his knowledge about his country, the history, and about the subjects on the tour (i.e. about the gorillas) was amazing. Would recommend and would do it again with Lion Safaris

Deserves the top rating!
When I saw all the 5 star reviews for Lion safaris, I thought that it was a scam! Nothing could possibly be that good?!! Oh but it was definitely that good :) Lion safaris had the chore of organising and hosting us for 5 days through Rwanda, Emile was outstanding in his performance! He was personable yet professional and we felt safe in his hands. Highly highly recommend, both Rwanda as a destination and lion safaris - my only regret is we should have booked longer!
