Pick-up at Kilimanjaro Airport & Transfer to Arusha
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred from Kilimanjaro airport to Africa Safari Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s safaris. If you arrive on an early flight, you get to relax at the lodge, enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool, or take a short trip into the city to explore bustling markets and soak in local life. If you arrive on an evening flight, you'll unwind by the poolside with a sundowner cocktail while watching the golden hues of the sunset. Day 2
Drive to Lake Natron
After breakfast, you'll travel through remote Maasai land and striking volcanic scenery to Lake Natron, a place of raw, other-worldly beauty. From June to November, nearly two million flamingos gather here, painting the lake pink. Along the way, you will stop at natural hot springs before arriving at Africa Safari Lake Natron. You'll relax in the lodge’s pool with sweeping views of Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, or take a short guided walk to the lake for an unforgettable experience. Hominid Footprints & Ngare Sero Waterfall
You'll start the day with an adventurous Ngare Sero waterfall hike guided by a Maasai, passing traditional villages along the way. You'll visit the Engaresero Footprint Site, where over 400 fossilized hominid footprints, 5,000–19,000 years old, reveal ancient behaviours—some appear to jog, others show unusual toes, and many indicate groups of women and children travelling together. Flamingo Walk Lake Natron
You'll join a Maasai guide for a Flamingo Walk at Lake Natron, where endangered lesser flamingos paint the alkaline waters pink. You'll hike to waterfalls, passing villages and wild scenery, then visit the Engaresero Footprint Site, with over 400 fossilized hominid tracks revealing ancient life. You'll end the day with a scenic drive to the Africa Safari Manyara Escarpment, unwind with a refreshing swim, and have a delicious dinner overlooking the Ngorongoro Highlands. Game Drives in Ngorongoro Crater
You'll rise early for a thrilling descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact caldera and home to around 30,000 animals, including the Big Five. This natural wonder offers one of Africa’s most unforgettable safari experiences.
