Day 1
After breakfast at your Nairobi hotel, you'll embark on a scenic drive through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley toward the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve. As you traverse rolling hills and vast savannahs, you’ll catch glimpses of giraffes grazing and zebras crossing the plains. You'll arrive at your luxury lodge or tented camp in time for a delightful lunch, where you can savor gourmet African cuisine while overlooking the wild landscapes. After a short rest, you'll set out for your first thrilling game drive. As the sun begins to dip, the golden light illuminates the Mara’s incredible wildlife—lions on the prowl, towering elephants marching across the plains, and perhaps even an elusive leopard resting in an acacia tree. Day 2
You'll wake up early for a morning game drive when predators are still active and the cool air carries the sounds of the wild. Your expert guide will take you to prime wildlife spots where you may witness a cheetah sprinting after its prey or a pride of lions basking in the morning sun. You'll return to camp for a leisurely breakfast and then visit a traditional Maasai village to learn about the customs, dances, and daily lives of this iconic nomadic people. You'll enjoy a relaxing lunch and a mid-day rest at your lodge, soaking in the tranquility of the wilderness. After landing, you'll enjoy a luxurious champagne breakfast in the bush, surrounded by the wild beauty of Africa. You'll return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest. Day 4
After breakfast, you will begin your scenic transfer toward Serengeti National Park via the Isebania border. You'll watch the landscapes change as you move into Tanzania, passing through small villages and rolling hills before reaching the border post. Here, you'll take a break for lunch while your guide assists with immigration formalities. You will enter the legendary Serengeti, a vast wilderness teeming with wildlife. You'll enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge, where you might spot lions resting in the shade, elephants parading across the plains, or cheetahs surveying their territory. You will arrive at your luxury camp just in time for a delectable dinner and an evening of relaxation under the Serengeti’s endless starlit sky. Day 5
You will set out on an early morning game drive, a prime time to spot predators returning from a night of hunting. You'll capture unforgettable moments as the African sunrise paints the sky with brilliant hues. You'll return to camp for a hearty breakfast and some leisure time. After lunch, you will head out for an afternoon game drive, following the migration trails or exploring hidden corners of the Serengeti. Day 6
Another exciting morning game drive awaits, taking you deeper into the Serengeti’s remote regions. You'll track the famous Big Five—elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos—while learning about the delicate ecosystem that supports this thriving wildlife haven. You'll enjoy breakfast in the bush before returning to camp for a well-earned rest. After lunch, you'll set out for a final afternoon game drive, capturing stunning last glimpses of the Serengeti. Day 7
After breakfast, you will bid farewell to the Serengeti as you transfer to Seronera Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. You'll soar over the African plains, watching the landscapes transition from golden savannah to lush coastline. You'll arrive in Zanzibar around midday, where you will be met and transferred to your exclusive beach resort. You'll enjoy a refreshing welcome drink as you take in the breathtaking views of the turquoise Indian Ocean. You'll spend the rest of the day unwinding on the beach, letting the warm island breeze melt away the dust of the safari. Day 8

Your days in Zanzibar are yours to enjoy—whether it’s snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, diving among vibrant coral reefs, or simply lounging on powdery white sands. 5.0/5Our 10-day African safari to Kenya and Tanzania was magical and memorable! We are so glad we chose to go with Tapestry of Africa because we were taken care of from the very beginning, from the video call to discuss itinerary options and prompt answers to every question (and there were a lot). The suggested accommodations were beyond expectations (even got the honeymoon suite at one - which was nice since we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary) and the food at each of them was excellent - some offering à la cart and others buffet style, which made for a nice variety during our stay. Albert, Hilda and Matt were there checking in on us prior to the trip and throughout and our guides, Alex and Ernest, took care of us through each of the parks and made sure we saw animals and had a great time. We really loved having the pop-up roof Land Cruiser all to ourselves and the personalized care and insights that each guide provided. We were very happy with the time of year we chose to go - as the weather was not too hot or too cold and not crowded! The bonus of booking with Tapestry of Africa was the humanitarian efforts that the organization provides with dental care to underserved African communities!

We just finished our safari with Tapestry of Africa and overall a great experience. We felt the price was great and our accomodation was very comfortable, especially our last stay in Amboselli at the Tortellis camp. A note to others that there is a lot of driving involved and over some very rough roads so be prepared for that. Also arrival times at some lodges are usually later than expected so again be prepared for this. Having said that we loved it all and were very happy with this company.

Matt, Albert and Hilda worked with me patiently for 8 months on the most suitable itinerary, best accommodation within my budget and the experiences I was looking for - meticulously planning every minute detail. Tapestry of Africa was the perfect choice for us. After doing a group tour in southern Africa the previous year we realised that this time we wanted to maximise the time spent in the national parks with the animals so Kenya was perfect. I was looking for a longer trip, around 3 weeks, that was packed with safari days. There were only a few companies I could find doing longer trips that included Tsavo N.P. We wanted to go to Tanzania as part of the trip, specifically the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. I found Tapestry on Safari Bookings as they had a perfect trip listed. Tapestry had amazing communication and flexibility when booking, allowing me to get my dream trip to everywhere I wanted to go for a suitable budget and timeframe. Matt at Tapestry will make sure your trip is exactly what you want, you won’t just be another booking as you will be with some other companies. We also contacted a larger company who were too pushy to get the sale, only focusing on telling us how many reviews they had. We had separate guides and vehicles in Kenya and Tanzania but we had a great time in both. Our guides were both very experienced, friendly and professional (and we had a really great time with them). Thanks to the knowledge and networking of our guides, the overload of animals we saw made sure that our cameras were never put away. We will go back for another trip in a few years and we will talk to Tapestry because they listened to what we wanted and we trust them to deliver a great trip.
