Day 1
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will brief you on your upcoming adventure. You’ll then transfer to your accommodation in Kampala for an overnight stay. Your overnight stay will be at Makerere University Guest House (or similar). Day 2
After breakfast, you'll begin your cultural immersion with a guided visit to Katanga Slum, a unique and resilient community primarily composed of single mothers and children. Later, explore Uganda’s rich heritage with visits to the Uganda Museum, Kasubi Royal Tombs, and Lubiri Palace. Your overnight stay will be at Makerere University Guest House (or similar). Day 3
You'll depart early for Jinja and take on the thrilling Grade 3–5 rapids of the Nile River with professional rafting guides. Later, you'll return to Kampala for a vibrant evening of traditional Ugandan music, dance, and storytelling at the Ndere Cultural Centre. Day 4
Following an early morning breakfast, you'll begin the travel north through the historic Luwero Triangle to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino tracking experience. This will be before you continue to Lira, arriving in the evening. Your overnight stay will be at Lira Hotel (or similar). All meals included Drinks not included
Day 5
You'll gain profound insight into Northern Uganda’s post-conflict recovery with visits to NGOs working with former child soldiers. You'll hear firsthand stories of survival, reintegration, and resilience. Later, you'll visit the Barlonyo Massacre Memorial, where over 300 civilians lost their lives in 2004. Your overnight stay will be at Lira Hotel (or similar). All meals included Drinks not included
Day 6
Following a morning breakfast, you'll travel to Gulu and visit the Lukodi Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, the site of a 2004 massacre by the Lord’s Resistance Army. You'll learn about the lives of survivors and ongoing peace-building efforts. Your overnight stay will be at Acholi Inn (or similar). Day 7
Following a morning breakfast, you'll drive to Murchison Falls National Park via the scenic Porongo Gate. You'll enjoy the wildlife viewing as you go to Paraa. Upon arrival at Paraa, you'll enjoy a boat cruise to the base of the dramatic falls. Later, you'll transfer to the lodge. Your overnight stay will be at Gipir & Labongo Safari Lodge (or similar). Day 8
You'll start the day with a sunrise game drive in the Buligi circuit. Look out for elephants, lions, giraffes, hyenas, and more. After your safari, you'll proceed to Hoima the to the top of the falls for a stunning panoramic view. Your overnight stay at Mica Eco Resort (or similar). Day 9
Following an early morning breakfast, immerse yourself in the traditions and history of the Bunyoro Kingdom. Later, you'll explore the Bugoma Forest Reserve for a guided chimpanzee trek. Thereafter, you'll be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your overnight stay will be Kazinga Wilderness Safari Camp (or similar). Day 10
You'll enjoy a morning game drive through diverse landscapes, home to lions, elephants, buffalo, and more. Following an early morning breakfast, you'll wrap up your Queen Elizabeth safari with a final game drive before heading southwest to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, located at the tri-border region with Rwanda and Congo. Day 12
Following an early morning breakfast, you'll engage with the Batwa community and participate in a coffee-making experience from the garden to the cup. You'll cross into Rwanda and settle into your lodge near Volcanoes National Park. Your overnight stay will be at The Garden Place Hotel & Coffee Shop (or similar). Day 13
You'll embark on an early morning after breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters to trek in search of the endangered golden monkeys. Afterward, you'll visit the Gorilla Museum at the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, followed by a visit to Gorilla Guardian Village for a deep dive into Rwanda’s rich culture and traditions. Day 14

5.0/5We had an absolutely phenomenal trip to Uganda. We had short time due to work constraints and our group was all arriving at different times. Aaron was the best host, he was prompt, easy to communicate with and so engaging. He made the pick up seamless and all the transport seamless. We also got to unexpectedly squeeze in an extra excursion to the golden back monkeys after an epic day with the silver back gorillas which was so special! The accommodations were good and food was fine as well. We really enjoyed every moment of the trip with him and he was very easy to work with and allowed us to stop for photos and other random detours.

Aron and team communicated clearly from the get-go and were very flexible accomodating our group. We had three different arrival times into Kigali, including a 2:00 AM arrival. Aron was on time to pick us up for each arrival, and had all the logistics including lodging and interim activities to keep us entertained. We then drove into Uganda from Rwanda and stayed at Lake Buyoni for a quick rest before heading to see the gorillas and we arrived just in time for our trek. Seeing the gorillas was amazing, and quite the adventure to get to. Safari 2 Gorilla drove us to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest over some rough roads, but the drive was also beautiful. We stayed at Bwindi, and Aron was to drop us off in Mbarara the following day. We didn't have any time constraints so Aron suggested we go to Mgahangi National Park to see the Golden Monkeys, which was considerably out of his way. Overall, I would highly recommend Safari 2 Gorilla. Aron knows western uganda like the back of his hand, and is an excellent tour guide.

Our group of 6 booked a gorilla trek with Safari 2 Gorilla Tours after being recommended to this company by a friend. We were not disappointed. Aron communicated with us regularly leading up to our trip and helped us plan the perfect trek. We were collected at our accommodation and looked after extremely well by our driver from pick up until drop off the following day. Aron planned our accommodation in the Bwindi Forest which was incredible. Our trek was an unforgettable experience and one I would highly recommend to anyone. I would have no hesitation in recommending Gorilla 2 Safari Tours to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Uganda and all it has to offer.

This was my second experience with Safari 2 Gorilla Tours. As with the first, Aron was an incredibly prompt and clear communicator, going above and beyond in answering questions, which was greatly appreciated, and extremely friendly and welcoming throughout the process. He makes every step clear, and set us up for a truly unforgettable experience in Mgahinga tracking a family of gorillas, being flexible with our travel constraints throughout the organizing. On this trip, my only hesitation was the per person cost for full board at the Gorilla Trek Camp, a perfectly fine accommodation, but based on our experience just a bit pricey compared to options of the same quality in other parts of the country. As a whole, I do not hesitate to recommend this company for organizing your own excursions in southwest Uganda!
