Day 1
Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
The safari begins with a free pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport at 6:30am. After meeting your professional driver-guide, you will set off for the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. The journey takes you through the scenic Great Rift Valley, with stops for photos and sweeping views, as well as glimpses of rural Kenyan life, traditional Maasai villages and roadside curio markets. Lunch will be enjoyed en route before heading straight into the reserve for an exciting 5–6 hour afternoon game drive across the iconic savannah plains. The Masai Mara is teeming with wildlife, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, antelopes and more. Your guide will take you to areas with the highest chances of sightings, and with some luck, you may even spot a leopard or witness a pride of lions on the hunt. After the game drive, return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay. Maasai Village Visit and Return to Nairobi
Wake up to the sounds of the African bush and engage in an optional visit to a traditional Maasai village (manyatta). This enriching cultural experience provides an opportunity to interact with the local community, learn about their customs, witness traditional dances, and gain a deeper understanding of Maasai life—an unforgettable way to conclude your safari. After the visit begin the journey back to Nairobi. You will arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on traffic and stopovers. Your driver-guide will drop you off at your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, marking the end of an unforgettable two-day private safari with Meterai Safaris. We booked a one day Mount Longonot and Lake Naivasha tour, and Meterai were great all the way from booking to the tour on the day. Excellent Safari Tour - Highly Recommend
We had an incredible experience with Meterai Safaris on our January trip to the Maasai Mara! As a group of three girls traveling together, we felt completely taken care of from start to finish. Richard was an exceptional host and guide. He truly listened to what we wanted out of the experience and tailored the safari to fit our preferences, which made it feel personal rather than scripted. When our flights changed at the last minute, the company was incredibly flexible and accommodating—making what could have been stressful feel seamless and easy. Airport pickup and drop-off were right on time, and the transitions were smooth throughout. The safari itself was unforgettable. We saw 3 of the Big 5, and Richard went above and beyond—doing some seriously impressive driving and tracking to help us spot animals that are notoriously hard to find. You could tell he was experienced, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best possible sightings. The entire trip felt safe, well-organized, affordable, and thoughtfully planned. We couldn’t have asked for a better Maasai Mara experience and would absolutely recommend Meterai Safaris to anyone looking for a customized, stress-free adventure.

Amazing experience
