It is 96,000 hectares of wilderness, rolling hills and magnificent wildlife, and is especially well-known for the largest population of white rhinos in the world. Durban - Hluhluwe-iMfolozi
After arrival at King Shaka Airport in Durban, you will be met and taken on a drive up north to the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve. Here, you will stay for 3 nights at Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge in a standard room. Settle in and have a rest, and if time allows, enjoy your first shared afternoon game drive in the afternoon. Day 2
Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve
Wake up before dawn for the morning game drive, starting at sunrise. Savour a hot coffee and an early-morning snack before boarding the safari vehicle and departing the lodge in search of animals. Spend 3 hours traversing the bush and looking out for wildlife before they retreat to the shelter of a tree in the heat of the day. After returning to the lodge for a delectable hot breakfast, you’ll have time to relax and unwind, surrounded by serene African wilderness. Lounge at the pool, delve into a captivating book, have a blissful nap, or simply soak up the sights, sounds and scents of nature. Afternoon tea is served before your next game drive, departing around 3:30 - 4:30 pm, depending on the time of year. Enjoy a sundowner stop in the bush, returning to the lodge with a spotlight to catch sight of nocturnal animals. Dinner is served before you settle in for the night to the symphony of the wild. Hluluwe - St Lucia
After your last morning game drive and breakfast in the bush, you will be picked-up again and taken to St Lucia to enjoy the wetlands from there. In the afternoon you will go on a 2-hour hippo boat cruise. Transfers are not included, but can easily be arranged locally. Transfer time: ~1 1/2 hours.
