Day 1
Your Rwandan adventure begins the moment you land at Kigali International Airport, where a warm welcome from Naleyo Tours & Travel sets the tone for the journey ahead. Travel southwest through Rwanda’s rolling emerald hills and endless tea plantations to Nyanza, where the King’s Palace Museum brings the country’s regal past to life. Step inside traditional thatched huts, admire the graceful Inyambo cattle adorned with royal ornaments, and immerse yourself in tales of ancient monarchs and tradition. Continue through scenic countryside to your luxury lodge in the heart of Nyungwe Forest. After a sumptuous lunch, venture onto the famous Canopy Walk, a 160-meter bridge suspended above the lush rainforest. Surrounded by mist, birdsong, and towering mahoganies, you’ll feel the wild pulse of Africa beneath your feet. The day ends in refined comfort, as the forest hums softly under the starlit Rwandan sky. Day 2
Begin your day with an early breakfast as mist drifts through the ancient canopy of Nyungwe Forest. Energized and ready, set out with your expert Naleyo Tours & Travel guide for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience in one of Africa’s oldest rainforests. Follow winding jungle paths alive with birdsong and rustling leaves until you hear the excited calls of the chimps above. Watch them play, groom, and communicate — a captivating glimpse into our closest relatives. Later, seek out the striking black-and-white colobus monkeys, their graceful leaps lighting up the treetops. Return to your lodge for a leisurely afternoon — perhaps indulge in a soothing spa treatment, a Rwandan tea tasting, or simply relax on your terrace as the forest hums gently below. Day 3
After a hearty breakfast, set off on a scenic drive north toward Volcanoes National Park, journeying through Rwanda’s iconic patchwork of terraced hills, lush farmlands, and lively roadside villages. Along the way, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, a heart-warming community project where tradition and transformation come alive. Enjoy rhythmic Rwandan dances, learn age-old crafts, and hear the inspiring stories of former poachers who now dedicate their lives to protecting wildlife. Continue your ascent into the highlands, where the mist thickens and the majestic Virunga volcanoes rise on the horizon. Upon arrival at your luxury lodge, breathe in the cool mountain air and take in sweeping views of this mystical landscape. As evening falls, savour a gourmet dinner paired with fine wine, surrounded by the warmth, elegance, and tranquillity that define the heart of Rwanda’s wilderness. Today marks the pinnacle of your safari: mountain gorilla trekking. After an early briefing, follow your ranger deep into the misty bamboo and montane forests, where the crisp mountain air and jungle sounds heighten the anticipation. Witness a family of endangered gorillas up close — mothers nurturing infants, juveniles playing, and the commanding presence of the silverback. This intimate, hour-long encounter is profoundly moving. After lunch, track the golden monkeys, vibrant and playful among the bamboo groves — a true photographer’s delight. Return to your lodge to unwind, basking in the peace and majesty of the volcanic highlands.
