Day 1
Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be picked up at the hotel/airport and leave for Masai Mara National Reserve, with a short rest stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Thereafter, you will proceed to Masai Mara to arrive in good time for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, you will head for an afternoon game drive in good time for big cats’ action. You will witness a great herd of antelopes and an evening savannah sunset. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp. Day 2
Masai Mara National Reserve Exploration
After breakfast, you will leave for a full-day game drive, carrying a packed picnic lunch. The reserve is well known for its black-manned lions and is one of the few places where you have the chance to see the Big Five during an early morning game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under safari vehicles, and several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded; among these include 16 species of eagle, hawks, and falcon, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 of bustards, and 9 species of sunbirds. Day 3
Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park
You will have an early morning game drive and return for a full breakfast. Thereafter, you'll leave for Lake Nakuru to arrive in good time for lunch and rest. You will have afternoon game drives in the park until the evening. This park is a renowned paradise for bird watchers with its high population of birds, the most famous being the thousands of flamingos, which form a very beautiful deep pink coloration around the edges of the lakeshore. Apart from these flamingos, there are also over 400 species of birds visiting the lake. Animals can also be sighted in the park, including Rothschild’s giraffes, black and white rhinos, waterbucks, reedbucks, lions, buffalos, leopards, baboons, and several other species of plains game. Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, you will have an opportunity to visit Lake Naivasha for an optional boat ride. Later, you will head to Amboseli National Park via Nairobi with a stopover at Manzoni Lodge for lunch and rest. Thereafter, you will leave for Amboseli National Park. You'll arrive at the park en route to the game drive as you head to the camp. If weather permits, you will have a view of the magnificent snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, you will leave for a full day game drive carrying your packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, hippos and great of all its big huge elephants with a view of Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest in Africa. In the early morning, there’s a chance of spotting snow. Your dinner and an overnight stay will be at the lodge. I was referred to Arzoni Africa Safaris by a friend. My Canadian boyfriend informed me around June that he was planning to have spend a two weeks safari and beach relaxation in Kenya and Tanzania. Parks of his interest were Mara, Lake Nakuru, Samburu, Amboseli, Taita hills, Ol Pajeta and Lake Naivasha. Sam made our safari planning seamless and every request by my boyfriend and I were considered in the final itinerary. Overally, we had 10 days of safari and 4 nights in Zanzibar. The choice of accommodations was amazing and our expectations were met. Food was also excellent except in Elewana Tortilis (Amboseli) which were somewhat too spicy.
