Arrival in Lilongwe

Day 2
Lilongwe to Liwonde National Park
After breakfast, journey through rural Malawi to Liwonde National Park, a top wildlife destination. Enjoy scenic views of villages, farmlands, and landscapes before arriving for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a memorable boat safari along the Shire River, where you'll see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife. At day's end, witness a spectacular African sunset over the river—a perfect introduction to Malawi's wildlife. Overnight in Liwonde. Day 3: Spend a full day in Liwonde's wilderness. Start with an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active, offering chances to spot elephants, buffalo, antelope, hippos, and possibly predators. Explore diverse habitats from riverine forests to open floodplains, with exceptional birdwatching. After resting during the warmer hours, continue with an afternoon safari for more unforgettable wildlife encounters and breathtaking scenery before returning to your accommodation. Day 4
Liwonde to Cape Maclear, Lake Malawi
Leave the safari behind and journey to the stunning shores of Lake Malawi. The scenic drive to Cape Maclear offers views of rolling hills and traditional villages. Arrive in time for a relaxed afternoon by the lake—swim in crystal-clear waters, explore the local community, or simply unwind on the sandy shore. As the sun descends, the lake transforms with vibrant oranges and purples, creating a perfect lakeside sunset. Overnight in Cape Maclear. Day 5: Spend a full day immersed in the clear waters of Lake Malawi National Park. Snorkel among colorful cichlid fish, found nowhere else on earth. Cape Maclear to Majete Wildlife Reserve
On Day 6, depart Cape Maclear and journey south to Majete Wildlife Reserve, Malawi's greatest conservation success story and one of the few places where you can spot the Big Five. Enjoy a scenic drive through rural southern Malawi before arriving in time for an afternoon game drive. Search for elephants, black rhinos, buffalo, lions, and elusive leopards across diverse woodlands and riverine habitats. As the sun sets, enjoy spectacular wildlife viewing before overnighting in the reserve. Day 7 is a full safari immersion. Begin with a morning game drive when predators are most active.
