Tarangire National Park, Tanzania
This is the ideal itinerary if you want to see the largest herd movement of animals on the planet and go to the best national parks in Tanzania's north. This trip will concentrate on the western Serengeti. The great migration occurs from May to July across the Grumeti River. Before coming face to face with predators waiting on the other side, the herds of wildebeests and zebras have to outwit the enormous Nile crocodiles and the swiftly moving water. A magnificent show.

Day 2
You will have an early breakfast and then head to Tarangire National Park for a game drive, carrying a packed lunch. The world's highest concentrations of elephants and bird species in breeding plumage can be found in this beautiful park. Wildlife is abundant in Tarangire National Park, particularly during the dry season. Large cats such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as the infrequently sighted Kudu, oryx, and gerenuk. Massive herds of gazelles, zebras, and wildebeests are drawn to the Tarangire River, where they are hunted by predators. You'll make your way to the lodge later in the afternoon to spend the night and have dinner. Mid-range lodge located 1-2hr drive from Tarangire NP All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 3
You'll make your way to the well-known Serengeti National Park this morning. You will make a stop in a Maasai village along the way to learn more about this graceful warrior culture. After arriving in the Serengeti, you'll have a picnic for lunch before going on an amazing game drive. When you visit this region of the Serengeti between May and July, you can witness a significant shift—the great migration of wildebeests crossing the Grumeti River. The herds have to dodge the swift-moving water and crocodiles before coming up against the predators that are waiting on the other side. A magnificent show. You will spend the night in the Central Serengeti tented camp. Mid-range tented camp located inside Central Serengeti NP All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 4
You will get up early to leave your camp and spend the entire day traveling across the plains with the herds, taking in the sights and sounds of the great migration. Observing the annual migration of hoofed mammals in a clockwise circle, trailed by predators, is an amazing experience. The Serengeti is the best place to go if you want to see all five of the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo) in one park. You'll go back to the camp, where you will spend the night and dinner. The camp boasts amazing views of the Serengeti. Mid-range tented camp located inside Northern Serengeti NP All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 5
You'll head out for a game drive in the Serengeti's central region after breakfast. This area is well-known for its profusion of lions and leopards, which are typically easy to spot. This central area offers year-round, spectacular game viewing. You'll savor the sights of unending plains and breathtaking fauna, including pangolins, ostriches, hippos, giraffes, elephants, and cheetahs. After having lunch at Serengeti, you will be heading to Ngorongoro for an overnight stay and dinner. Mid-range tented camp located less than 1hr drive from Ngorongoro Crater All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 6
On this day, you'll head toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Nearly 30.000 animals, including the Big Five, are housed there. Zebras, buffaloes, lions, wildebeest, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, cheetahs, and the endangered black rhinos are all abundant in the crater. The crater appears almost surreal due to the stunning colors and moving clouds. The Ngorongoro Crater was selected as one of Africa's Seven Natural Wonders due to its breathtaking natural beauty. You will make your way to Farm of Dreams Lodge for dinner and the night in the late afternoon. Mid-range lodge located 1-2hr drive from Ngorongoro Crater All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)
Day 7
After breakfast, you will be met at your accommodation by your safari guide. You will then set out for Lake Manyara National Park. This relatively small but diverse park is so named for a shallow salt lake that covers a large area of the park's surface area. Flooding and drying with the seasons, this soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos with another 500 bird species represented in the park. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalos, elephants, and, with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes —not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab-dotted cliffs. After an extensive game drive through the park, you will head toward to Arusha Planet Lodge. Mid-range lodge located in Arusha (City) All meals included Non-alcoholic drinks

Our 7-day safari with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris for the wildebeest calving season was truly the trip of a lifetime! From our first interaction, Gift was incredible, meticulously planning every detail of our private itinerary and making us feel completely at ease. I wanted to choose a company based in Tanzania and Gift answered every question I had. The level of personal care was outstanding. Josef, our transfer driver, made our arrival and transitions through Arusha effortless. Gift met us on our arrival night to discuss logistics and answer any questions we had. He encouraged us to learn by asking, about Africa and Tanzania. Our game drive guide and driver, Jacob, was the absolute star of the trip. Whether we were navigating the rugged, baobab-filled landscapes of Tarangire or descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, his expertise ensured we had the best possible views of the Big Five. We felt incredible in his skilled hands throughout the entire journey. The accommodations Gift chose for us were perfect and varied: * Under the Shade Safari Lodge (Arusha): A peaceful base to start and end our trip. The hospitality was warm, and it was the perfect place to relax after our flights. * Farm of Dreams Lodge (Karatu): We loved the quiet, palm-fringed grounds. The rooms were spacious and spotless, and beautifully done. The hospitality warmed us. * Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp: This was a highlight! Staying right on the crater rim with such luxurious safari tents was magical. The views from the terrace were breathtaking, sounds of the jungle surrounded us and the food in the restaurant was exceptional. * Kontiki Ndutu Camp: Nestled right in the heart of Ndutu, this camp put us in the perfect position to experience the calving season. It felt authentic and high-end, and the courtesy of the staff was second to none. Across all locations, the cleanliness, comfort, hospitality, and food including the open-air picnic lunches in the wild were beyond yum. We slept incredibly well each night. Jacob’s patience and enthusiasm were the reasons our trip was so successful. He drove us deep into the heart of Ndutu, ensuring we didn't just see animals, but experienced their world. The wildlife sightings were staggering! We saw: The Big Five in all their glory, tons of elephants in Tarangire. Multiple Lion prides and several Leopards (including cubs!), Multiple Cheetahs, including a thrilling cheetah chase and a cheetah and leopard with their kills. The Wildebeest Migration with so many young ones was incredible to see. Rare sightings like the Honey Badger, golden Jackals, Hippos, Rhinos, Giraffes, and Flamingos, and Nature in action as we watched different kinds of Vultures and Marabou Storks fighting over carrion and Hyenas and multiple species of Eagles watching closely. At Kontiki Camp, we were surrounded by Zebras! What truly touched our hearts were the intimate first anniversary celebrations the teams organized for us at both Farm of Dreams and Kontiki. Those surprises were so thoughtful and will remain unforgettable moments for us. The food was fantastic throughout, the cleanliness was impeccable, and the genuine courtesy of everyone we met made us feel so welcome. We are already planning to come back with our entire family and will definitely be choosing Meru Slopes to plan the trip. Thank you, Gift and Jacob, for making our first anniversary so special! We are already looking forward to our next adventure.

Our safari in Tanzania with Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris was an unforgettable experience. This trip was especially meaningful as I travelled with my grandmother, and the team took such great care of us. Our consultant, Leonard Mkwavi was very helpful and attentive, our guide, Max Elisa Ayo was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience truly special. Everything was perfectly organised, the accommodation and food were excellent, and we were lucky enough to see all the animals we hoped for. I would highly recommend Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris to anyone considering a safari in Tanzania.
