Afterward, it's an hour's drive to reach Etosha Safari Lodge, situated just twenty minutes outside the national park. The lodge's viewing decks offer panoramic vistas of mopane woodlands, providing the perfect setting to unwind and dive into a cool pool. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a game drive, captivated by the surrounding landscapes and wildlife. Day 4
In the morning, our journey takes us south to Outjo, with an optional stop again at the Outjo Bakkery before turning west towards Damaraland. Over the estimated three-hour-thirty-minute drive, witness the transformation from mopane woodlands and ridges to savannah plains adorned with large boulders at the feet of mountains. Camp Kipwe, nestled among these rocks with a stunning view of the Aba Huab Valley, awaits. Upon check-in, take a moment to relax and soak in the scenery, or refresh yourself at the pool surrounded by boulders. Later, immerse yourself in Namibian culture as you venture to Twyfelfontein, renowned for its ancient rock engravings. Witness the geological wonder of organ pipes reaching towards the sky, situated near the Burnt Mountain. Conclude your day by savoring a meal under the African night sky, relishing the last evening's sweeping views. The following morning, embark on a desert-adapted elephant drive, marveling at these majestic giants. Mid-range lodge located near Twyfelfontein (Rock Art) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
Today, our adventure leads us toward the legendary Skeleton Coast, aptly named for the stretch of shipwrecks and desolate plantlife lining the shoreline. After a four-hour drive, we arrive at Cape Cross where a Portuguese explorer erected a cross in honor of his king. Witness the bustling activity of a thriving seal colony and enjoy lunch while next to the Atlantic Ocean. Afterward, a one-hour-thirty-minute drive takes us to Swakopmund, where you'll stroll through streets of German colonial architecture and enjoy the sights from the jetty. In the afternoon, indulge in oysters on the beach with your guide. The next morning we head to Walvis Bay for a catamaran cruise. Encounter playful seals, majestic pelicans, and, if lucky, dolphins, all while savoring locally farmed oysters and sparkling wine. Later, travel to the Moon Landscape, an ancient canyon, just outside town. An optional 4x4 excursion to Sandwich Harbour can be arranged at additional costs. Mid-range hotel located in Swakopmund (City) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinks not included
Day 8
In the morning, we embark on an approximately five-hour journey inland and then south to the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Along the way, your guide will make stops at intriguing points, including Vogberg, the geological marvel of the Kuiseb Canyon, and the charming town of Solitaire. Here, indulge in their famous apple pie before the final hour of travel to Sossusvlei Lodge. Nestled on the threshold of the national park, the lodge offers breathtaking views of velvety red dunes and desert-adapted wildlife, providing the perfect backdrop for relaxation and hospitality. In the afternoon, partake in a sundowner drive to the dunes with an experienced guide. The following morning, an early pre-dawn breakfast precedes our journey towards Sossusvlei. Conquer Dune 45 along the way before exploring Sossusvlei, challenging Big Daddy Dune, and gaining passage to wander amidst the blackened trees of Deadvlei. On your return, venture into Sesriem Canyon to enjoy its refreshingly cool shadows. Mid-range lodge located less than 1hr drive from Sossusvlei (Sand Dunes) Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 10
Regrettably, this marks the final day of your tour as your guide takes you on an estimated five-hour journey back to Hosea Kutako International Airport. There are two different routes to your destination. For those with an interest in wine, it's about an hour's drive to Neuras Wine & Wildlife Estate, offering the chance to sample Namibian wine and tantalize your taste buds. Alternatively, for those captivated by magnificent views of the surrounding landscape, a two-hour drive to Spreetshoogte Pass provides a final opportunity to absorb the breathtaking beauty. Upon reaching the airport, your guide will facilitate the check-in process before bidding you farewell. We recommend arriving at least three hours before your international departure. If your schedule permits, a Windhoek City Tour or an extra night in the capital can be arranged at an additional cost. Our trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe was already our second trip with Southbound tours and it won’t be our last. Marco really listens to your expectations and exceeds them. He makes your trip worry-free. We look forward travelling with Southbound tours again!
Axelle · Belgium
I came into contact with Marco through his services as a pilot. He was very helpfull regarding a trip through Namibia, and I ended up booking my entire trip with Southbound Tours. Marco provided excellent service throughout the entire trip. He took care of every detail including booking activities. Our trip was in July 2021 but Marco was able to care of any Covid and non- Covid related issues. He has an extensive knowledge and network of local guides, lodges and hotels. Marco provides excellent communication and documentation. His service is not only very reliable but he goes the extra mile to make your trip unforgettable. I did not hesitate to book a second trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe, part of Namibia and South Africa last november 2023. The service of Southbound Tours was again top notch !
