Day 1
Welcome to South Africa. On arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport you’ll be met by our driver and assisted to your private transfer. A transfer brings you to your hotel in one of Johannesburg’s leafy northern suburbs, where you can settle in, freshen up and unwind after your flight. Spend the rest of the day at your own pace: relax by the pool, enjoy the gardens, or take a gentle stroll to nearby cafés and shops. This evening is at leisure, with an optional dinner reservation arranged for you at a recommended local restaurant if desired. Day 2
After breakfast, enjoy a road transfer back to the airport. Then take a short domestic flight to Skukuza Airport. On arrival, you will be welcomed by our local representative. Then take a min-game drive to the safari lodge and shown to your room before enjoying a relaxed lunch. The afternoon is your first taste of safari: head out in a 4x4 vehicle with your ranger in search of the Big Five and other wildlife. As the sun sets, pause for classic safari sundowners in the bush. Return to the lodge for a hearty dinner and a peaceful night under star‑filled African skies. Luxury lodge located inside Southern Kruger NP (South Africa) All meals included Drinks not included
Day 3
Wake before sunrise to the sounds of the bush, then set out on your morning game drive. Early hours are prime time for spotting predators on the move and grazing herds out feeding. Return to the lodge for a generous brunch, then spend the heat of the day at leisure—take a siesta, relax by the pool, or watch animals and birdlife from the lodge deck. In the late afternoon, you’ll depart on another game drive, exploring a different area of the reserve as the light softens and animals become active again. After sunset, return to a welcoming fire, dinner under the stars (weather permitting), and storytelling with your guides before turning in for the night. If you feel up to it join a guided Walking/Nature Safari after the morning game drive. Luxury lodge located inside Southern Kruger NP (South Africa) Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Drinks not included
Day 5
Have a relaxed start with breakfast at the lodge. After checking out, you’ll be transferred to the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. Fly to Victoria Falls, crossing into the Zambezi River’s lush, green corridor. On arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to the lodge just a short distance from the Falls themselves. Settle in and enjoy the afternoon at leisure: cool off in the pool or wander into town to browse vibrant local craft markets. On day 2 after breakfast, set out on a guided tour of Victoria Falls. Walk through the rainforest, stopping at a series of viewpoints that reveal different angles of this incredible natural spectacle. Feel the spray on your face, hear the thunder of the water, and take in unforgettable views of “Mosi‑oa‑Tunya”. Then later in the day, as the day cools, join a classic sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, as the sky turns gold and orange and hippos, crocodiles and birds line the riverbanks. Mid-range guest house located at Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinks not included
Day 7
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a final look at the Zambezi before your transfer to the airport for your flight to Cape Town. On arrival in Cape Town, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel, situated one block from the Sea Point promenade. The evening is at leisure: take a stroll along the beach, browse shops and galleries, soak up the harbour and mountain views, and sample Cape Town’s excellent restaurants and local cuisine. Day 8
After breakfast, you’ll head out for a classic introduction to Cape Town. Ride the cableway up Table Mountain for sweeping views over the city, harbour, Atlantic coastline and distant mountains. The tour includes Fast track tickets on the aerial cableway of Table Mountain. Back in the city, enjoy a guided orientation taking in highlights like the Company’s Garden, nearby historic buildings, and the brightly painted houses of the Bo‑Kaap. There’s time for a coffee stop, browsing local markets and capturing plenty of photos along the way. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace—shop at the V&A Waterfront, visit galleries or museums, or opt for a harbour cruise or additional sightseeing (at extra cost). Spend your final day in Cape Town at leisure—perhaps with a celebratory dinner at one of the city’s acclaimed restaurants, to toast an unforgettable journey. My family have been planning an African safari for three years - a bucket list trip - we wanted something a bit off the beaten path so we would have a more boutique experience and in Namibia. African Family Safari put together an unbelievable itinerary and our kids will be talking about this trip the rest of their lives. Exactly what we had hoped! Wholeheartedly endorsed!
