Day 1
Your adventure kicks off with a hearty breakfast at your Nairobi hotel, fueling you for the thrilling journey ahead. Soon after, you’ll step into your private safari vehicle, where your guide greets you and the cityscape begins to fade. As we venture northeast toward Meru National Park, watch Kenya’s landscapes shift from bustling suburbs to lush hillsides, open farmlands, and acacia-dotted plains—a beautiful introduction to the country’s remarkable diversity. By mid-afternoon, you’ll arrive at the wild and wondrous Meru National Park, a place etched into history by the iconic story of Elsa the Lioness and the film Born Free. Check-in to your lodge and enjoy lunch and a rest. Over the next two days, enjoy three exhilarating game drives through Meru’s dramatic terrain—searching for lions, elephants, and the elusive leopard. One of your highlights will be a special visit to the Elsa Memorial, a touching tribute to the lioness who inspired a generation of wildlife lovers. Day 3
After breakfast in Meru, set off on a scenic drive north to the rugged beauty of Samburu National Reserve. Watch the landscape shift as you pass remote villages and semi-arid plains on the way to your lodge near the Ewaso Ng’iro River. Arrive in time for a relaxing lunch, then head out for your first game drive in this remote, wildlife-rich region. Samburu is home to the rare “Samburu Special Five”—Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. Return to camp for dinner and a peaceful night under the stars. The next day begins with an early morning game drive, when predators are most active and the golden light paints the bush. Return to the lodge for breakfast and enjoy some time at leisure—perhaps by the pool or watching wildlife from your terrace. In the afternoon, venture out again to explore more of the park’s dramatic terrain and unique wildlife. End the day with dinner and another restful evening in this wild and unforgettable corner of Kenya. Luxury tented camp located inside Samburu NR All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
After breakfast in Samburu, begin your journey south to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a groundbreaking wildlife sanctuary on the Laikipia Plateau. Upon arrival, visit the renowned rhino sanctuary—home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos on Earth. You’ll also meet Baraka, a blind black rhino and beloved ambassador for his species. These encounters offer a rare and moving glimpse into vital conservation work. Afterward, head to your lodge for lunch and some time to rest and recharge. In the afternoon, continue your exploration with a visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can observe rescued chimps up close. Learn about their stories and the center’s ongoing mission to protect primates. Later, head out on a game drive across the conservancy’s open plains, where you may spot lions, elephants, and rhinos roaming freely. Return to the lodge for dinner and a peaceful evening reflecting on a truly meaningful day in the wild. Luxury tented camp located inside Mutara (Ol Pejeta Conservancy) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
After breakfast, set off for the scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, a haven for bird lovers and one of Kenya’s most picturesque parks. Watch the landscape change from open plains to the lush greenery of the Rift Valley floor. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, with views of the lake or surrounding woodlands. Take a moment to settle in before heading out for an afternoon game drive through the park’s varied habitats. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flocks of flamingos and other water birds, often seen painting the shoreline in shades of pink. But it’s not just about birds—this park is also a stronghold for both white and black rhinos and home to endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. Explore the acacia forests, bushy grasslands, and lakeside trails as you search for wildlife and enjoy the peaceful beauty of t his compact but diverse reserve. Return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening in the heart of the Rift Valley. Luxury tented camp located inside Lake Nakuru NP All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and a chance to settle in before heading out for your first game drive across the golden plains of the Mara. Over the next few days, enjoy immersive game drives through one of Africa’s most spectacular ecosystems. The Masai Mara is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including frequent sightings of the Big Five. Drive along open grasslands and acacia-dotted hills, where every turn reveals elephants, lions, cheetahs, or herds of wildebeest. 5.0/5Our 10-day African safari to Kenya and Tanzania was magical and memorable! We are so glad we chose to go with Tapestry of Africa because we were taken care of from the very beginning, from the video call to discuss itinerary options and prompt answers to every question (and there were a lot). The suggested accommodations were beyond expectations (even got the honeymoon suite at one - which was nice since we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary) and the food at each of them was excellent - some offering à la cart and others buffet style, which made for a nice variety during our stay. Albert, Hilda and Matt were there checking in on us prior to the trip and throughout and our guides, Alex and Ernest, took care of us through each of the parks and made sure we saw animals and had a great time. We really loved having the pop-up roof Land Cruiser all to ourselves and the personalized care and insights that each guide provided. We were very happy with the time of year we chose to go - as the weather was not too hot or too cold and not crowded! The bonus of booking with Tapestry of Africa was the humanitarian efforts that the organization provides with dental care to underserved African communities!

We just finished our safari with Tapestry of Africa and overall a great experience. We felt the price was great and our accomodation was very comfortable, especially our last stay in Amboselli at the Tortellis camp. A note to others that there is a lot of driving involved and over some very rough roads so be prepared for that. Also arrival times at some lodges are usually later than expected so again be prepared for this. Having said that we loved it all and were very happy with this company.

I started planning my safari vacation a year ahead and after reviewing several operators, I chose to go with Tapestry of Africa. Initially it was because of the quick response to my many queries, their patience with my constantly changing itinerary and their ability to immediately understand that this was a dream vacation for my family and I. Matt, Albert and Hilda worked with me patiently for 8 months on the most suitable itinerary, best accommodation within my budget and the experiences I was looking for - meticulously planning every minute detail. Matt’s input was invaluable and he sent me photos and videos of places, accommodations and experiences that we could have. I was indecisive about Lake Naivasha and Matt took a video of his boat ride on the lake to show me what it would be like! I was not sure of the lodge in Amboseli and Matt sent me a personal photo of his visit to Amboseli……The trip was perfect in every aspect thanks to Tapestry. In fact it was beyond expectation. There is not one thing I would change. I have traveled extensively in many countries and I have worked with a lot of tour operators, but with Tapestry of Africa, I felt like I had a friend or family helping me plan this vacation. From the day we landed in Nairobi till the day we returned home, someone from Tapestry was always checking in on us - was the drive ok, was the accommodation ok, how the safari was going, did we need anything….I felt I had a friend who was looking out for us at all times. Of course we saw a lot of animals, of course the places we visited were magical and the experience simply out of this world. But the best part of the vacation was the service and care provided by Tapestry. Hilda checked on us as we were waiting to board our return flight, after the vacation! I have never had a tour operator make sure I reached home safe and sound after the vacation! Hilda made sure we reached home! Along with helping plan the most perfect vacation, Tapestry will provide personal care and attention. They go above and beyond their call of duty. We went to Kenya for a vacation and returned not only with fabulous memories and unforgettable moments but also with a deep bond with the team at Tapestry. Most tour operators will organize a safari vacation but Tapestry stands out as one that truly cares about their clients.

Tapestry of Africa was the perfect choice for us. After doing a group tour in southern Africa the previous year we realised that this time we wanted to maximise the time spent in the national parks with the animals so Kenya was perfect. I was looking for a longer trip, around 3 weeks, that was packed with safari days. There were only a few companies I could find doing longer trips that included Tsavo N.P. We wanted to go to Tanzania as part of the trip, specifically the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. I found Tapestry on Safari Bookings as they had a perfect trip listed. Tapestry had amazing communication and flexibility when booking, allowing me to get my dream trip to everywhere I wanted to go for a suitable budget and timeframe. Matt at Tapestry will make sure your trip is exactly what you want, you won’t just be another booking as you will be with some other companies. We also contacted a larger company who were too pushy to get the sale, only focusing on telling us how many reviews they had. We had separate guides and vehicles in Kenya and Tanzania but we had a great time in both. Our guides were both very experienced, friendly and professional (and we had a really great time with them). Thanks to the knowledge and networking of our guides, the overload of animals we saw made sure that our cameras were never put away. We will go back for another trip in a few years and we will talk to Tapestry because they listened to what we wanted and we trust them to deliver a great trip.
