Day 1
🌎 Your Namibia safari begins with pick-up from Windhoek by your professional guide. You immediately leave the city behind and travel into the vast, open landscapes of the Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world. 🌎 The journey south is part of the experience, with ever-changing scenery of mountains, gravel plains, and endless horizons. 🌎 Along the way, enjoy scenic stops and a relaxed lunch before entering the Sossusvlei region, where towering red dunes begin to appear. This is one of Namibia’s most iconic landscapes and your first real encounter with the desert’s beauty. 🌅 Arrive at your lodge before sunset and head out for a sundowner drive in the desert, where the golden light transforms the dunes into glowing waves of red and orange. This is a soft introduction to Namibia’s wilderness and the beginning of an unforgettable journey. Day 2
🌄 Start early for sunrise inside Namib-Naukluft Park, when the dunes are at their most dramatic. Visit: ✔️ Dune 45, one of the most photographed dunes in Africa, ✔️ Followed by the surreal white clay pan of Deadvlei, where ancient camelthorn trees stand frozen in time against towering red dunes. ✔️ For the adventurous, climb Big Daddy Dune, one of the highest dunes in the world, offering panoramic views over the desert ✔️ Wildlife such as oryx, springbok, ostrich, and jackals may be seen in the desert plains. ✔️ After exploring Sesriem Canyon, travel west through dramatic desert passes toward the Atlantic coast. ✔️ Stop at Walvis Bay Lagoon, famous for large flocks of flamingos and coastal birdlife. Arrive in Swakopmund, a charming coastal town where desert meets ocean and enjoy dinner at top local restaurants. Mid-range hotel located in Swakopmund (City) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
🏝️ Today is a full coastal adventure while staying in Swakopmund. ☑️ Begin with a luxury catamaran cruise in Walvis Bay Lagoon, where Cape fur seals, pelicans, and dolphins often interact with the boat. Seasonal sightings may include whales and ocean sunfish. ☑️ After lunch, experience one of Namibia’s most spectacular highlights: Sandwich Harbour 4x4 excursion, where massive sand dunes drop directly into the Atlantic Ocean. This protected Ramsar wetland is a photographer’s paradise. ☑️ Drive through shifting dunes and dry riverbeds where you may encounter oryx, jackals, and springbok adapted to the coastal desert. The contrast between ocean fog and golden dunes creates a surreal landscape found nowhere else in Africa. Return to Swakopmund for another relaxed evening. Mid-range hotel located in Swakopmund (City) Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Drinks not included
Day 4
🌎 After breakfast, depart Swakopmund and travel north along Namibia’s dramatic coastline. ✔️ First stop is the Cape Cross Seal Reserve, home to one of the largest colonies of Cape fur seals in the world, where thousands gather along the Atlantic shore in a powerful, raw wildlife spectacle. 🔥 Continue into the remote Skeleton Coast National Park, a region shaped by fog, ocean currents, and desert winds. Along this desolate coastline you will see shipwreck remains, abandoned diamond mining camps, and old oil exploration sites, telling the story of human survival attempts in extreme conditions. How did pioneers survive here? 🏔️ As the journey continues inland, the landscape shifts into rugged desert and ancient geological formations. ✔️Arrive in Twyfelfontein, Damaraland, a UNESCO World Heritage region and one of Namibia’s most untouched wilderness areas. Mid-range lodge located inside Damaraland Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
🧭 Today focuses on one of Namibia’s rarest wildlife experiences: tracking desert-adapted elephants, found only in Namibia and Mali. These elephants survive in dry river systems and travel long distances in search of water, making sightings both unpredictable and incredibly rewarding. ✔️ Explore the Huab and Aba-Huab River valleys, where elephants may share space with giraffes, oryx, springbok, and desert-adapted rhinos. 🐘🦒 🦏 🔥 This is not a fenced reserve, but a true wilderness ecosystem shared with local Damara communities. 🔥 ✔️ In the afternoon, visit the UNESCO-listed Twyfelfontein rock engravings, where over 2,000-year-old San artwork reveals ancient hunting scenes and spiritual symbolism. This combination of wildlife and history makes Damaraland one of Namibia’s most unique regions. Mid-range lodge located inside Damaraland Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
🦏After breakfast, we will leave Damaraland and travel north toward Etosha National Park. ✔️Our first stop will be at the fascinating Petrified Forest, where ancient trees were buried and fossilised over 280 million years ago. A short, guided walk reveals this extraordinary geological site. We will check in at the lodge and relax 🐘 Continue into Etosha and enter one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves for your first afternoon game drive. Wildlife begins to appear quickly around waterholes, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope, and possibly lions or rhinos. 🦒 Etosha’s open plains and salt pan ecosystem create excellent visibility for wildlife viewing, making your first drive a true safari highlight. Luxury lodge located just outside Etosha NP Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 7
🐆 Spend a full day exploring Etosha National Park, travelling between waterholes from the southern to eastern regions. Etosha is defined by its life-giving water sources, where wildlife gathers in large numbers especially in the dry season. 🦁 Expect excellent sightings of lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and large herds of antelope. Predator-prey interactions often unfold at waterholes, offering dramatic wildlife encounters. 🦅 Birdlife is equally impressive with over 340 species, including raptors, vultures, flamingos, and migratory birds. Every stop offers something different, making Etosha one of Africa’s most reliable safari destinations. Mid-range lodge located inside Etosha NP Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 8
🦡 Enjoy a relaxed and fully flexible safari day in Eastern Etosha with private game drives tailored to wildlife movement and your preferences. 🎥 Unlike group tours, your guide adjusts timing and routes for better sightings and photography opportunities. 🦓 Morning and afternoon drives focus on productive waterholes and open plains, with chances to see more elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and rhinos. Mid-range lodge located inside Etosha NP Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 9
🌎 Travel from Etosha to Okonjima Nature Reserve, home of the AfriCat Foundation, one of Africa’s leading big cat conservation projects. 🐆 In the afternoon, join a guided leopard tracking experience using radio telemetry, following collared leopards through the reserve. Learn about predator behaviour, conservation research, and human-wildlife conflict in Namibia. 🐆 Okonjima also hosts rehabilitated carnivores such as cheetahs and provides one of the best chances in Africa to see leopards in the wild. _____ ✅ Safari Highlights Recap ✅: ______ * ✔️ Sossusvlei dunes & Deadvlei * ✔️ Swakopmund coastal cruise & Sandwich Harbour * ✔️ Skeleton Coast National Park- less visited * ✔️ Desert adapted elephant tracking in Damaraland * ✔️ Twyfelfontein UNESCO heritage site * ✔️ Full Etosha wildlife safari * ✔️ AfriCat leopard tracking experience on Okonjima Nature Reserve Private touring ensures a slower pace, better sightings, and a more exclusive safari experience. Prev booked exceptional tours and locations, and lodgings. He took care of all of our needs. He communicated with us through What’s app. This was a great value for the cost.
Judy & Dan · United States
The suggested itinerary matched perfectly with our preferences. All accommodations were carefully chosen and according to our budget. Everything was very well planned and well communicated in advance (driving times, facilities, activities) and there was still room to profit from last minute opportunities. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable about animals, birds and the country. He was always in a good mood and eager to satisfy our requests and questions. PEA Tours has always been quick to respond when planning the tour. Our Namibian Grand Tour was a wonderful experience and highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore Namibia.
