5.0/5We absolutely loved our safari experience with Outland Travel! The guides were amazing—super knowledgeable and made us feel totally safe and comfortable. You can really tell they care about what they do. Everything was well thought out and we felt welcomed, looked after, and completely immersed in the bush. If you're looking for a real, untainted safari experience in South Africa, this is it! Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

From start to finish Matt & Jared from Outland Travel made sure the trip was tailor-made perfect to our needs and wishes. The communciation was smooth and they took care of everything. Though biking in the mountains, mountainbike safari and a diving trip were all included. On top of that Matt & Jared are just the perfect guys to accompany you on the trip. Very nice and funny guys but loaded with a lot of knowledge about the country and the bush. Would definitely book again with Outland Travel!!

I rode solo with Outland Travel in October 2024 and would highly recommend this outfitter. I spent about 8 days with them riding along the Zambezi river, and was thoroughly satisfied with my time with them. It was an incredible trip, with overwhelming beauty, fantastic relationships, and unique experiences that I deeply cherish. There is so much I can say about this trip. First, Jared and his team at Outland Travel embody care in everything they do. They truly want you to have a good experience and understand that you're making an investment when you adventure with them. They get to know you and your riding style, take into account the things that you're interested in, and make you, your riding, and your adventure the center of the whole experience. While you're focused on having the time of your life on two wheels, they make the work of managing the endless details of route planning, lodging, timing, food, water, gear, bike maintenance, and safety look easy. And we riders know that is far from the truth. They also seem to have strong relationships in the countries and local communities where they ride. I could share countless examples where we were welcomed and greeted with respect- whether it was by small business owners, community leaders, or just friendly passers-by in the villages and roads we traveled. If you ride with Outland Travel, don't be surprised if you make friends with someone local who ends up showing you a beautiful place that might be off the beaten path, invites you to a village celebration, or insists on sharing a cold beer or soft drink to share some stories. As someone who was looking for something more active and adventurous, the riding was amazing. Our big days (around 90k of dirt and gravel) were indeed strenuous, but very fun. The breaks were plentiful- both planned and unplanned. And on the longer stretches, Outland was there to help me take in the incredible beauty of our surroundings, inform me about local ecology, and check in to see how I was doing. If there was ever a technical glitch (for example, I had a cleat that malfunctioned) I never worried about our trip getting derailed. And our shorter days (around 50k) allowed for more time to enjoy the magic of the Zambezi river- including the amazing wildlife in and around Lower Zambezi National Park (including elephants, eland, water buffalo, lions, zebras, impalas, water bucks, kudu, and so many hippos!). That said, you don't have to be an aggressive rider to enjoy what Outland Travel has to offer. Let them know about your interests and style, and I suspect they'll do an amazing job of taking really good care of you and offering you an experience of a lifetime. That was the case for me, and I'm already looking forward to planning my next adventure with them!

Absolutely loved our time in the lowveld. Jared and Matt are so accommodating and knowledgable. We had a couple of bush walks and drives during our stay, and we learnt so much and saw some great sightings. (Walking in a Big 5 area really is a special experience.) Everything from the activities to the food, to the company and the scenery was top tier. Would book with Outland Travel again!
