Welcome to Mauritius! You'll arrive at MRU Airport and transfer to Veranda Tamarin. An island-style boutique hotel beckoning those in search of a down-to-earth, cozy-cocoon tropical escape. Day 2
Surf Lesson in Tamarin, the Surfing Village of Mauritius
You'll start your day with a surf lesson before having time to relax on the beach this afternoon. Bart, your local surf coach, has built a reputation of his own in Tamarin, the surfing village of Mauritius. Almost everybody knows him for his natural talent at riding waves. A passion he now shares through his surf school with beginner and intermediate surfers who wish to connect more deeply with the ocean. Day 3
Canyoning Down Waterfalls & Jumping into Plunge Pools
This morning, you'll get adventurous with two abseils from waterfalls while inhaling the wild and lush beauty of the Tamarin Falls. You'll be able to jump and swim in safe plunge pools before coming back on a 15-minute steep hike. Possibility to join a guided hike instead of abseiling. This afternoon is free for you to relax after the morning's adrenaline-fueled activity. Leisure
Today is yours to enjoy at leisure. Take it slow with a laid-back beach day or continue your adventure with one of our recommended optional activities in the region. Tamarin and its surroundings offer a wealth of experiences for every interest. For example, you could go stand-up paddleboarding on the Tamarin River, visit Chamarel's Seven Colored Earth and waterfall, or make the most of Veranda Tamarin's spa. Guided Hike up Le Morne Brabant
You'll set off this morning to conquer Le Morne Brabant. It's the best way to admire the famous "underwater waterfall" from the heights, while learning more about Mauritius' history of freedom and sacrifice. This is a high-intensity activity —it's steep! Day 6
Transfer to the East Coast
You'll transfer over to the East side of the island for the second half of your adventure in Mauritius. Otherwise, today is at leisure. Otentic offers a glamping experience between the mountain and the river in the most eco-conscious and original way. Expect dry and cozy nights thanks to the well-equipped and elevated tents, and enjoy an array of ecotourism activities. The tents here run with power and water provided from natural resources, and meals are sourced from the organic garden. Water Adventures at Ile aux Cerfs or Grand South-East River
You'll take the early boat shuttle to Ile aux Cerfs, known for its beaches and shallow lagoons, or grab a kayak for a self-guided paddle through mangroves, spotting monkeys and fruit bats, to the nearby Grand South-East River waterfall. Mountain Biking in Bras d'Eau National Park
Guided ride through the turquoise beaches of Roches Noires & Poste Lafayette; you'll cross the endemic forest of Bras d’Eau and hike the lava tubes of Roches Noires. To close with a flourish, your guides will invite you for a dip in the natural springs of Roches Noires. This is a fantastic 3-in-1 experience of Mauritius' secret gems. On the way back to Otentic, you have the option to stop off at Belle Mare Beach. A slice of untouched heaven. Our guide will invite you for a beautiful coastal trek that will fascinate you with kilometers of unspoiled beaches and basaltic cliffs: the perfect balance between an adventurous and sandy escape. Your local guide will walk you through the famous spots of Le Souffleur and Pont Naturel, passing through small forests and virgin beaches. This afternoon is free— we recommend checking our La Cambuse beach, one of our favourites. Technical Hike up to the Lion Mountain's Head
This hike offers wonderful views of the turquoise eastern lagoon and the first port of Mauritius, Mahébourg. It's a technical hike which only gets better as you ascend — its views and winding, shaded trail make it one of our favourite hikes on the island. After the hike, you'll make the most of your final afternoon in Mauritius.
