Day 6
Soweto & Apartheid Museum
After breakfast, you'll depart on a Full Day Soweto, Apartheid Museum & Traditional Township Lunch Tour. Starting with the introduction at the FNB Soccer stadium. You'll then take a drive into Soweto, passing the Baragwanath Hospital and Diepkloof. You'll stop and take a walk through the streets of Motsoaledi informal settlement, visit a community center sponsored by MoAfrika, and meet local residents. Next, you'll explore Orlando West, stopping outside Regina Mundi Church and Freedom Square, with an optional visit to the Hector Pieterson Museum. You'll stroll down vibrant Vilakazi Street, seeing the homes of Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu, with an optional visit to the Nelson Mandela Museum (own cost). Our first Big 5 Safari Tour was nothing short of incredible! From the very start, the excitement was unreal and it only got better with every moment out in the wild. Seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide Martin was knowledgeable, passionate and made the whole experience even more special. It’s something we’ll never forget, truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! But we will repeat it as we still have to „hunt“ leopard 🐆 hehe
