Drive to Akagera NP and Afternoon Game Drive Drive
The safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Kigali and a scenic drive to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, guests enter the park and enjoy a guided game drive through savannah plains, woodlands, and lakes, with chances to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and various antelope species. After the game drive, guests proceed to their accommodation inside or near the park for dinner and overnight stay. Budget accommodation options include Akagera Game Lodge, while mid-range travelers can stay at Karenge Bush Camp or Akagera Rhino Lodge. Morning Game Drive and Boat Safari on Lake Ihema
After an early breakfast, enjoy a sunrise game drive when wildlife is most active. Later, take a guided boat safari on Lake Ihema to observe hippos, crocodiles, and rich birdlife along the shoreline.
