Overview
On this three-day trip, you will discover both the Akagera National Park and Unva Muhazi. The park is home to the Big Five and other animals, including giraffes, zebras, hippos, and a variety of bird species. The park comprises several swamps, lakes, open plains, as well as low mountains, which make this park ideal for game drives and boat ride experiences. Later, you'll exit the park through the Southern gate and drive to Unva Muhazi, where you will enjoy kayaking on Lake Muhazi.

Day 1
Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park
Morning: You will be picked up either from the airport or your hotel after breakfast and proceed with a drive to Akagera National Park. On arrival, you will enter through the Southern gate and proceed to check in at Akagera Game Lodge, followed by lunch. At 4:30 pm: You will experience a boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you may see hippos, a variety of bird species, crocodiles, and some other land animals that come to the Lake shores for water. Day 2
Game Drive and Transfer to Unva Muhazi
After having your breakfast, you will check out and settle any extras, and proceed on a wildlife viewing drive both in the South and North sectors of the park with a lunch stopover at Mihindi Café. Later, you'll exit the park through the Southern gate and drive to Unva Muhazi. Mid-range lodge located at Lake Muhazi All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

Day 3
Kayaking on Lake Muhazi and Departure
You'll have a relaxed breakfast and later walk to the lake, where you will do the Kayaking experience. This doesn’t require any experience, and the guide is available to direct you where necessary. Our booking was originally planned for three weeks – a complete tour up to Gisenyi (for 6 people). Unfortunately, our five-year-old son became ill and was very unwell for 14 days. During this difficult time, we were not alone – you never left us on our own. For this, my entire family would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The Everetret team quickly organized a new plan: story time and 🤗 small activities to provide distraction. Healthy children and girls were taken on short outings (not far from Kigali), and every day brought something new. This allowed my husband and me to fully focus on caring for our little son. In the last week of our stay (after the 14 days), we were also able to enjoy a short break ourselves. We will see you again in August. Many, many thanks to the whole team – Doris, Theo, and everyone else. 🙏🙏🙏❤️👌
