Day 1
Arrival & Sunset on the Zambezi
Upon arrival at Royal Airstrip or by road transfer from Lusaka, you will be warmly welcomed by the lodge team and transferred to Royal Zambezi Lodge. After check-in and a refreshing welcome drink, settle into your luxury river-facing suite and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. In the afternoon, head out for your first safari experience — a relaxing boat cruise on the Zambezi River. Glide past pods of hippos, crocodiles basking on sandbanks, and elephants coming down to drink. As the sun sets over the escarpment, enjoy sundowners before returning to the lodge for a delicious dinner under the African sky. Classic Safari Experience
Your day begins with an early morning game drive through the floodplains and woodlands of Lower Zambezi National Park. This is prime time to spot predators such as lions and leopards, as well as large herds of elephants and buffalo. After an exciting morning in the bush, return to the lodge for brunch and leisure time — relax by the infinity pool, enjoy river views, or book a spa treatment. In the late afternoon, venture out again for another game drive, exploring different habitats and wildlife areas. For those seeking something extra special, an optional night drive offers the chance to see nocturnal animals rarely encountered during the day. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Canoe or Walking Safari & Sunset Cruise
After breakfast, enjoy a more intimate safari experience with a guided canoe safari along the Zambezi River or a walking safari within the park. Canoeing allows you to quietly approach wildlife along the riverbanks, offering a unique perspective at water level, while walking safaris provide insight into animal tracks, plants, and the smaller details of the ecosystem. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on a final sunset river cruise, soaking in the golden light and incredible scenery as wildlife gathers at the water’s edge. Overall, everything was wonderful. We saw amazing sights, had good guides, seamless transportation, and the value for the money was very good. The only problem was being accidentally overcharged, and Priscilla worked diligently with her bank to refund the overcharged amount.

Excellent customer service. Great help in finding the right accommodation for a very picky group but Priscilla kept at it until she found one for us. Priscilla and her team were great. They picked us up at the airport, organised trips, liaising with local businesses including Batoka sky for a microlight flight and a trip to the Devil's pool. She and the team were also able to give lots of options when it came to in the fly actives like eating out, or getting souvenirs.
