Accra, Botswana
The golden monkey trekking tour in Volcanoes National Park is one of the top adventures to do in Rwanda. The activity involves a relatively easy trek through the bamboo jungles in the lower zones of the Virunga Volcanoes. Afterward, you'll head to misty Bwindi, which is home to gorillas. You'll wind up with chimp tracking in the Nyungwe rainforest which is located in southwestern Rwanda, at the border with Burundi, to the south, and Lake Kivu and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west.

Day 1
You'll be picked up from your Hotel or Airport in Kigali and driven to the Uganda-Rwanda border. In the process, you will traverse the lush countryside dotted with undulating hills that have qualified Rwanda as a land of a thousand hills arriving in Bwindi in the afternoon. You will check into your lodge. Post lunch, you will go for a Batwa Cultural Visit. Day 2
After an early morning breakfast, you'll walk to the park headquarters for a briefing on the do's and don’ts during gorilla tracking. Thereafter, you will proceed to the gorilla trail. Gorilla tracking normally lasts between 2 to 8 hours or even a day to encounter the gorillas. However, you will be allowed to stay in the presence of these awesome apes for at least an hour. You should carry a packed lunch, which will be provided, as one cannot determine how long it may take to encounter the mountain gorillas. Later, you'll transfer back to Musanze for dinner and an overnight stay. Mid-range lodge less than 1hr drive from Volcanoes NP (Gorillas, Rwanda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
You'll wake up for an early breakfast and transfer to the park head offices in Kinigi by 7:00 am. You'll join up with the other golden monkeys' trekkers, meet the ranger guide for a few minutes talking about the activity, and by 8.00 am you'll transfer to the trailhead just outside the park. You'll enjoy great views of the mountain scenery as you start your trek into the park to find the golden monkeys. The golden monkeys live near the edge of the park in the bamboo forests where the ground is relatively flat and easy to trek. You'll find the monkeys and follow them as they feed, notice how they skillfully pick the young bamboo leaves from the tip of the bamboo tree. They may also move out of the park into the potato fields and how they love the potatoes! After an amazing one hour with the golden monkeys, you will return to the trailhead, and drive back. Thereafter, you'll be transferred to Nyungwe via Ruhengeri arriving in the evening. You'll have dinner and an overnight stay. Budget guest house less than 1hr drive from Nyungwe NP (Chimps, Rwanda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
You'll have breakfast and afterward meet at the park offices for the briefing about the primates and the forest. Afterward, you'll enter the tropical rainforest searching for the shy chimpanzees in the tree branches. While on this walk, expect to spot other primates like the white and black Colobus, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and mangabeys. More birds can be spotted too in the Nyungwe National Park. After the chimp trek, you will embark on the safari vehicle and drive back to Kigali with lunch en route. Then, you'll drive to the airport for your return back home. 4.8/5What I can say is that I can rate everything five star From start to finish Communication and booking with the company was super smooth and easy. The tour guide must be very experienced with the way they handle every detail to make a very memorable experience. Our guide, Jamal was a very hospitable and took very proper care of. He was very rich in knowledge about the wildlife, and he shared it with such super story telling skills that it made feel very live. Uganda is beautiful with nature. Got the opportunity to watch all the big five in beautiful green pastures. We had a trip also to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, our very first time seeing Rhinos it was indeed very fulfilling. not only that but every part of the journey was a highlight. If you’re considering a safari in Uganda, I highly recommend BLS Safaris and with value for money I think it was really worthy every penny. We did not feel at a point that we overpaid for anything in fact it felt like it was so economical with the moments and how good the service was and accommodation. You are indeed in for a truly extraordinary safari experience.

This was our very first time visiting Uganda and it turned out to be a very memorable one because of how it was wonderfully organized. After looking a a number of companies that could organise the trip, a friend from Uganda recommended BLS safaris so we decided to give it a try and was never proven wrong for choosing them. Lameck never got tired cause I kept changing very many things but he paid attention to make sure we would get the best out of the trip with also good recommendations which I loved very much. When we landed at the airport, I was received by the guide Jamal who was also the driver through out the entire trip, I must say he is a very good driver too. His knowledge is quite vast and he took very good care of us, making sure everything was perfect during our time with him. Ugandan people are very welcoming and lovely people who treated us really so well where ever we visited. The accommodations really exceeded our expectations based on what we thought about Uganda, especially in the national parks. Gorilla Trekking was like the icing on the cake. We really enjoyed the activity so much. Uganda is so much rich in nature. We are really planning to come and visit again. BLS safari team, Lameck and Jamal treated us so well, and we became more of friends. We cant wait to come again not only for the safari but to also meet our lovely friends. 3rd Safari now

Our trip with BLS was exceedingly great. From the planning stage, Pre-tour communication was great. Gloria was always in touch with us, helpful, and very kind. During the trip, they went above and beyond our expectations. I appreciate their thoughtfulness to make our experience perfect. The tour guide, was very knowledgeable, passionate and a very good driver. He took great care of everything we needed from the smallest to the big things like navigating the parks to giving us the best opportunities to see wildlife, managing all the activities on time, providing food and snacks, and ensuring abundant supply of water. This was my first safari, and BLS made it so interesting that I would love to visit again. We did Gorilla trekking which exhausted my strength although the expectations paid-off. Gorillas are so amazing. We visited the rhinos, chimpanzees, and many more animals. It was such a unique experience. Each accommodation was fantastic, with great food and better staff. I felt truly welcomed and comfortably enjoyed my stay. Honestly, this trip exceeded our expectations. We dont regret choosing BLS safaris. If you're considering a trip to Uganda, we recommend them highly!
